Looks official now unless Sky are making it up.

Great fee - but will Mills accept a sideways move? If not we can only hope that this will stir Stoke or Wolves into action. Really want him to go now as I am fed up with this soap opera.

Assuming of course that this does not spark Wolves or Stoke into life and they come in with matching bids. It would then be down to Mills to decide where best his future lies.

Was about to post the same - don't think he's got a release clause so bring it on!

This aside, because quite honestly I want that money more than I want Mills for one more season but...

You don't think this will inspire clubs to plummet away for Long's signature dya? We rejected Leicester when they made a 3.75m bid for Mills, so perhaps we'll cave if they offer us a tad more for Long despite the fact we have said he is worth 10m *cough not for sale*.

leicsRoyal I think a fitting tribute is due for the first away game of the season.

After 2 years of service, 70 odd games and the majority as skipper, shouldn't we give him a bit of respect?

No, you're right, fukk that.

WAIT A SECOND.

We've accepted it...which we would of course. He hasn't said whether he will go or not yet. I just don't understand why you'd give up captaincy at a decent Championship club to go to another similar club...although they'll double his pay no doubt...

This saga has played out in the press - presumably as a result of leaks from Mills side.

In contrast there is nothing at all to suggest that Shane Long has stirred up interest. He seems to have kept a respectful and reserved silence. So as far as I am concerned if Shane does go he will remain a Reading hero but Mills will deserve the finger!!!!!!!!!!

Let's see how clever BMcD is. Who do we have in the squad who can wind up Mills to the extent that he throws his toys out of the pram? As for supporters giving verbals / fingers / the like, don't you think that he will expect it? Best way to get at anyone is to ignore them. Has a far greater impact.

10 points is hardly "wayyy below" - and with the amount of money they're splashing around, I dont think any can blame him.

He had a couple of decent games for us but apart from that he could be one of the most disliked captains we have ever had.

£5mil = Mills.

So? It could be £20 million for all I care, if we don't reinvest and bring in someone with a good, proven, track record at CB, it's worth diddly squat in my eyes.
