PEARCEY Where have I said it was simple? I know its incredibly difficult but we handed it on a plate to Swansea yesterday despite having a very experienced back four. Kish's challenge on Dyer for the pen was ridiculous. It might have helped if he'd tried to go for the ball. Griffin's challenge on Borini is close to unforgivable as there was no danger at all. I don't blame Harte for his lack of pace leading up to their third goal although Kish playing statues allowing Dobbie to waltz past didn't help. As for the second where do I begin.
Swansea were there for the taking in the first twenty minutes of each half and we threw it away. AGAIN.

Surprised you felt it so keenly yesterday tbh Pearcey. The Bolton defeat was the one that shattered me emotionally, the Walsall defeat less so, then yesterday I felt inured to any further real pain, sad as I was. When it happens though will make it even sweeter.

This one really hurt. It hurt far more than if we'd just been stuffed 3-0 each half. It was the fighting back and getting so close that made it hurt so much -it was impossible to stay detached no matter how world-weary and cynical you tried to be yesterday. .

I don't see it in the same way at the Bolton defeat, that was real pain. At 0-3 down yesterday, making it back to 2-3 felt like a bonus tbh.

So was I Norrers. It was all about my little lad(sorry to mention him again). He cried bucket-loads yesterday and it got to me. It wasn't as bad as Bolton for me personally though and I was genuinely pleased for Swansea but we had plans of going to the likes of Old Trafford, Anfield, Villa Park next season as both of us have enjoyed our away trips this season. Its not to be.

Bandini Mostly stopped. Will be reawakened by player sales (particularly if unexpected ones), but allevi8d by the fixture list coming out.

This

I was prepared for the defeat. What I wasn't prepared for was the first half capitulation.

I was pretty glum at half time. Had we not come out battling I'd be struggling to get motiv8ed for next season.

We'll lose some players. We'll get some more in. We've got a gr8 manager. We've got West Ham, Saints and Brighton to look forward to.

Can't w8

Oic, I didn't know the bit about your son, fair play. I had a completely different experience in that respect in that my daughter got so carried away with it all that she pledged to support Reading forever more, so that cheered me.

Don't feel any pain. Promotion was never the be all and end all. I had a great day out, shame about the result, but a shrug of the shoulders and roll on next season.

Already over it. We over achieved getting to the play offs this season let alone the final.

It only hurts because our back 4 were not at their best yesterday. Shit happens.

95 hurt alot because we should have gone up automatically and at that time we had a great team. This team is just ok.

Svlad Cjelli It won't stop - it'll only get filed away in the dark recesses of the brain, alongside Wembley '95 and Cardiff '01.

Nothing like '95 - we should have had automatic promotion that year; this year, it was amazing to have done as well as we did.

We have had a fantastic season. 6th round of the cup 5th the league and the play off final. I would have taken that at the start of the season. I just wish one day I would get to experiance what it would be like to win one of these things.

No real pain. But I will forever remember the irritation at paying £64 to watch my team play as appalingly as they did in the first half. That has totally undermined what should have been remembered as a successful season, now I'll only remember it for hopeless defending, pedestrian passing and ineffective diagonal long-balls.

It hurt when Jem hit the post & then we gave away the ridiculous pen but nowhere near as much as Archie missing the pen at 2-0 up & then letting Bolton back in. Since then i always expect the worst!
