That's a fair team they've chosen there although I thought Max Gradel might have edged out Wes Hoolahan.

The strikers are totally fair choices. Danny Graham is the league's top-scorer playing in a lower team than Shane Long. Holt has also scored a lot and until recently wasn't the main penalty taker at Norwich (Hoolahan was) unlike Long who owes much of his goal tally to spot kicks.

Long was also poo for the first couple of months or so of the season. He'd probably be in my current best championship team but not the season one.

Well done Harte though - what an indian summer he's having.

Hoop Blah
Snowball - - - - - - - - - - - - Kenny

Martin - - Taylor - - - Gorks - - - Harte

Kebe - - - - Howson - - - -Taraabt - - - - Gradel

- - - -- - - - -Graham - Long

Kebe and Gradel can swap wings

Either that or Gradel plays on the right and Sinclair on the left. I've not seen much of Leeds this year to know where he's played, either left, right, or perhaps even through the middle where I have seen/read about him playing.

No complaints about Russell Martin here. Gradel has played predominantly on the left *I think*. He certainly did against us.

Mr Angry No Cardiff players??

No place for Darren Pratley of Swansea??

No chance of Pratley being in the side he's not started that many for Swansea this season. Long really should be in the side.

What about Holt and Graham, the two players he was being compared against?

Readings 106 pointers had 5 players in the PFA team that year even though they walked the league -so I guess the "whole is greater than the sum of its parts"

1) He's scored 21 in the Championship so that's 29%. So yeah, I am right.

2) He was clearly being directly compared to Holt and Graham yet you trot out stats for a load of other, totally unrelated players. What are the %s for his two rivals?

Congrats to Harte on this recognition. I was a skeptic when we first signed him. All the skepticism is gone. He had a great year with us and deserves this nod.

'Tis a shame Long wasn't on the team but I can see how it happened. Besides I am betting each and every one of them would forego all individual awards for the team one.

In the internet age, I wonder why they can't have the vote after the last league game?

"Players go on holiday..."

On THE last day? Never heard of email and the internet? TEXT?

Nothing to do with Long being in or out.

I just think announcing MoM after 80 minutes, or these awards in mid-season is just plain daft.

I agree, It might as well be done in August as regardless of how people play they'll just pick half the United side.

If it's team of the season what about the likes of Seamus Coleman, Charlie Adam, Scott Parker, DjCampbell, Ben Foster. These lads have had the season of their lives in the Premiership.

Can't argue with the Championship one, like Mags says Gradel or Snodgrass for me could challenge Hoolahan, as could Kebe.

Up front yeah Long has been terrific since Xmas again but those other two have been more consistant over a whole season in all honesty. Bothroyd could have a case. Howson has a case for central midfield, I think a couple of QPR defenders have a case as they have the best defense in the league in terms of goals against. But ultimately I feel the Championship side is pretty fair. The Premiership one is laughable.

Yeah absolutely needs to be later. We could go up now and those swans and canaried would not look so good. It's the same in the premierleague. Look at berbatov who scored most of his goals at the start of the season but is now attempting to destroy utds treble attempts, yet is automatically in the team of the year next to the awol tevez. Giggs could nowwin the European cup but bale wins the award.

Regarding Long, I'd want him at Reading ahead of Joly and Graham as he does more for the team than DG and is much younger than GH. But for team of the year they got it right. Graham has scored consistently for a club with nothing much else, Holt has completely inspired his team and I would have him POTS ahead of the Greater Diving Taraabt.
