bigmike for those of you moaning about the club selling out their allocation. Have you actually been away before? If so you have enough Loyalty points. In which case why didnt you get your tickets sooner? And if you didnt have enough Loyalty points you should have shown some support previous to the club getting to a quarter final at Citeh.

AWWWWW BOO HOOO

If the club ordered ay 5000 and didnt sell them out they would have lost money on these tickets as they have to pay City upfront for them.. Given that the games on telly and to be fair I dont think Reading have sold their away allocation out for quite a few years i think the club acted correctly

yes i go to as many away games as possible, more than home games......................whats that got to do with it!!!!

Just imagine what this forum would be like if we had an away following the size of Leeds... they have to go into a ballot for EVERY away match as they never get allocations big enough (and they have to pay for the priviledge of being able to enter that ballot).

We have it quite easy as RFC fans in reality.......now continue the moaning please.

potentially

some that had over 1600 points
many that had between 600-1599 points
and everybody that had below 600 points!

You'd be LOLing yourself silly when every away allocation was announced. It must be quite nice to be as easily amused as you are.

Well the prize for arrogance and stupidity must go jointly to you and Wycombe who seem to struggle to grasp even the most basic of concepts behind this whole cock up on the part of the club.

There was no need whatsoever for a shortage of tickets.

1599 points not loyal enough? Midnight not early enough?

These are immature whinging comments?

You are both pathetic.

Just for the record I have just under 1,600 and in recent seasons I have been to no more than 1 away game per season. So anyone who has attended just a handful of away games plus home cup matches will have had over 1,600 points. It isn't the clubs fault that all the of a sudden "big match" syndrome has struck the fans again.....

Who is doing the interview? It will be a shame if it's not Dellor. This is where his passion as a 'fan' would have helped and not let Mortimer off the hook again.

That plagiarises the argument, mate.
This is not about which fans are "more loyal", it is about a footballing occaision. We took 40 odd thousand to wembley in the simod cup final.
Sure there are thousands of "tourists" out there, and the more militant fans look down their nose at them. So what.
The point is that demand has outstripped supply, and that supply was decided by RFC, no one else.

Agreed...

if people are that desperate to get to the match they can buy tickets in the city end... they wont sell out anyway

Personally I think people have something to moan about. There must be loads of people with 600+ points who wanted to go but didn't get tickets... although if you didn't stay up to midnight to try and buy then that's their fault...

Just my two cents...

Out of interest, what do you find funny about this?

The immature, whinging comments from many for a start......some people need to get a grip.

Really? All I see is loyal supporters complaining about being denied the opportunity to see their side played in their first away FA Cup Q/F since the war, not by lack of capacity in the ground, but by a monumentally stupid decision by their own club.

Each to their own I suppose but, if that makes you LOL, you must be pretty odd.

A lot of people have been to every away game fore the past couple of years but missed having a ST for 1 year out of the past 6 due to being out of the country of whatever. They This loses sight of the may well have been to almost every game since 1871, but would stil be on about 1550.

Of course everyone over 1600 deserves their tickets, but surely the club could have gambled slightly to help those loyal fans who have been to every game this season? A lady on the radio had been to Everton and now can't go to City. At least the fans at Everton could have been at the very front? Their incredible singing (I wasn't there!) saw us through to this game!

So once again you completely fail (deliberately?) to grasp the main point. There did not have to be a shortage of tickets. This is very, very different from a Stevenage scenario.

Also it is completely the clubs fault that they took so long getting tickets on sale and then went for a ridiculously wide band of 600-1599 points.

Still, by your logic, the club should only really care about those with 1600+ points. Hope they remember that when it comes to season ticket renewals etc.

It's 100% the club's fault that they failed to anticipate a level of demand that would have been obvious to any one who's been following Reading for years or has any rudimentary insight into the psyche of the average football fan.

What a pathetic comment. You'd hope that fans would be sympathetic to those who couldn't get a ticket, partic if they have 1500+ points - but no, a group of puerile individuals have to take delight in taking the p!ss. YOU'RE not the real fans imo.

Well done on idiotic post of the day big mike.. I have been to a number of away games with friends of opposing teams. They have booked the tickets and shock horror I sat in the "home" end of the opposing team and on one occasion got verbal abuse for being too vocal in support of my team by opposition fans.
So I picked up no Loyalty points for any of those games.
I would love to have gone on Sunday and supported the team. We will have less fans there making less noise. If you think thats a good thing well done.

I agree that there have been some OTT comments on this thread, but what do you expect from HNA? I don't think anyone should be losing their job over this, but lessons need to be learnt shirley? The people who make the decisions on ticket allocations should have known that demand would exceed 2800 for this match, whether free travel was to be offered or not. Ultimately it's cost both Man City and Reading revenue anyway, so I'm sure in private there will be some sort of 'review' of this whole situation.

Really? I'd say anyone who fits the above profile would be impressed we've managed to sell 2800 tickets for a televised game up north late on a Sunday
