Norfolk Royal No striker in his right mind would pass the ball to someone from a penalty as it is against the rules.

He isn't good at headers?

Most of them wouldn't know what football was if the Premier League didn't exist.

Most of them are right in placing him, on aggregate, behind Suarez/Carroll but pushing [if not better] than Ngog. A few inaccurate posts there but I defy anyone to show me a set of fans that are a bit hit and miss with a player in a lower league to them.

Long is worth 5M now, and could be 6M+ very soon

Surely Long is only worth what people will pay for him? :|

But there will be a lot of seriously narked people if he leaves in the summer for less than £5M.

(1) of course, and (2) agreed

But truth is we've developed yet another talent, for relative peanuts, and if the club DOES take the money
and get in some player for 1-2M as an immediate replacement.

Not sure what people like Graham (19) Holt (15) Morison (12) would cost.

I still think, if we can win our next game away (Barnsley) and be on for a possible 76 points
then make the POs (which I think we'd then win)... Shane would be VERY happy to stay.

If we end up 7th but flying, or lose in the POs, he MIGHT stay, at least until Jan 2012 "to see"

But if we don't go up and he wants to go, we just have to wish him well, get one ready-made striker in while Manset-Williams develop and Church recaptures form

If Chamberlain at Southampton is worth a reputed 11 million pounds, surely this is the ridiculous figure that we would be expecting surely?

I'd like to think that Shane would stay until Jan next year, and see how the season is shaping up. He seems to enjoy the fact that he's now become our leading attacking player, and a move to a lower PL team would relegate him back to being a small fish in a big pond.

Obviously if a big bid comes in during the summer, then we'll just accept that and ship him off.

Federici for £3m and a reduction in squad size would do it nicely. (Ingi, Kelly, Mooney, Bignall, M Williams might gain us a million and allow Leigertwood and Khiz to join the employed ranks at RFC.)
