interesting - possibly like his namesake hes one for the short and long term, but maybe not the medium.
Its likely Ivar and Kish won't be here next year, so we need him for next season, and potentially for the next game with as you say, no Mills.

but squad for Saturday doens't mean matchday 18 remember, it jsut basically means whos available. Mills didn't sound too injured and was porbably rested from a long distance away game with a view to playing v Hull. I don't see either of these playing for a while, though it might be tempting to put both on the bench.

Federici, Harte, Mills, Pearce, Griffin, McAnuff, Leigetwood, Karacan, Kebe, Long, S Hunt - Bench, Andersen, Ingimarsson, Cummings, Tabb, Howard/Antonio, Robson-Kanu, Church
I'm not sure who gives way... unless of course Ingimarsson is too tired to be on the bench - but hes had a full week.

As for Nick Hammonds - we continue to look - rings a bit hollow when according to the bbc we've spent exactly the £300k we offered for BWP http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 364310.stm

Great news and well done to the club for getting these deals wrapped up, very much looking forward to seeing them in action in the future, though perhaps Williams might do with a short term loan move

I'm quite chuffed about the Morrison signing. Plenty of time ahead of him to improve, already with some decent experience playing well at L1 level, and at a good price.

Williams I'm rather dubious about. Ideally we'd be looking to loan him out to a L2 or L1 club to stagger the learning curve. Hopefully we're going to pick up another striker without losing anyone to enable that to happen.

Williams looks like Andy Griffin without the grey bits :D

Personally I'd pick up Cureton as a loan move.

Finishing was spot on last night against Brentford.

Strange the emphasis on the word "buy" in the OS article. Usually they just say signed.

A bit of attempted spin too far IMHO.

Cureton's a hero, but at this level at his age?

In their fond memories of Curo people forget how frustrating he could be. He needed very precise service or he struck an isolated figure.

I suppose that's more likely than not: but there's always the chance he could adapt quickly like Doyle did.

Interesting stuff in the Soton papers saying Ian Baird rated him as a potential professional from Day One

He went on to be top scorer in the Championship with poor service from Colchester. That tidy finish last night was what we miss. Can you imagine a glorious return? As for service, theres plenty from Kebe, Long and McAnuff - all better than Andy Hughes, John Salako etc!

It would be the perfect compliment to the long term signings above

How come his original big move was to AFC Totton then?!

At that level Totton paid a lot of money for him, and maybe wages?

Papers say he returned to Eastleigh to play under Baird

Would it make you feel better if they did?

I'll tell them next time.
