If they aren't certain about his injury then they can't sign him - simple as that. It isn't just the fee we are risking but also his wages. Do we want someone on the books who could end up being injured for 12 months whilst on £10k per week (the rumoured wage level he is on)?

There is no cock up, the cock up would have been signing him for him to then get a long term knee injury........I'm sure there is a strong possibility that the knee injury won't resurface but we aren't willing to take that risk.

Damn shame, but if the knee is that dodgy, then the club have done the correct thing.

Tough one for Plymouth, though. Other clubs might be wary too.
