Watched it on ESPN - must say Hoffenheim play some good stuff and he'll fit in well there. Didn't have time to make much of an impact, could've been put through for once chance, made one decent tackle, missed one where he took a bit too long but was interesting to see him on the left playing as a support striker almost - he seemed to find a lot of space. Best of luck to him.

If that is the standard of the Bundesliga every week then if I was Gylfi I'd be looking for a way out next summer. There was some nice passing but the finishing and defending wasn't much better than what we see in the Championship. What Neuer (Germany's No 1) was doing for Hoffenheim's second goal is a mystery.

Nowhere near as bad as Rob Green's error against the USA.

Yeah, but Green's English so you kind of expect it.

Sod Neuer. What was the defender doing on the post? He just watched it go past him.

Still Hate Futcher!
Magnus Only just seen this thread - not going to attempt to read all 68 pages can someone give me a summary?

Looks like we're selling Gylfi.

We have sold Gylfi.

Madejski is a dick.

Oh no he isn't.

Oh yes he is.

Repeat to fade..........

I can't believe Gylfi would want to leave Reading just for the Bundesliga. If he stayed here, he might get a move to wigan next season. Madejski must have forced him out - there's a conspiracy!

So do you really, seriously think that he'd ever turn this move down to stay at Reading for a while longer? Would you in his circumstances?

Yes, if he wanted to hang on for a move the the premiership, which he did. Reading accepted the bid and we told him to leave as we needed the cash, but I personally don't believe he really wanted to sign for some mid table German side. I only hope it proves to be the right decision for him.

Whereas, in reality, there was agreement with him (as with every player), that if an offer over a certain, agreed amount, came in it would be put to him.

An offer came in from Hoffenheim - who have actually been trailing him and in communication with RFC for a couple of years - which was above that amount, and so that offer was put to him. The personal terms and the German coaching standards appealed to him and he accepted the offer.

No Premier League club made any offer for him, and he was categorically not pressured to leave.

Why must there always be conspiracy, underhand-doings or an attempt to pervert the truth - usually what actually happened is a lot simpler and easier, even if it doesn't fit the agenda that people are trying to push on an internet message-board. Occam's Razor and all that.

Just seen this in trawling through the thread. Sun Tzu - how do you KNOW he was "categorically not pressued to leave". The coaching team didn't want him to go and he didn't want to go. :|

I'd better leave Sun Tzu to answer that - assuming he/she wants to.
