RFC Team Of The Decade/Century

by Vision » 20 Nov 2009 13:48

Ok so haven't seen this done as yet but as there's little to talk about other than the usual entrenched views though we'd have a bash at getting a consensus about the what would make up out team of the noughties.

Whatever we may think about it, theres little doubt that the last 10 years have been pretty momentous in terms of change and the highs and lows that have taken place.

Basically I'll just initally through threads out for best 11 nominations and then narrow down to a shortlist of nominees the merits of which can then be discussed and compared. I think its fair to say that there are a few positions where I'd imagine theres little choice and with the 2005/07 side being such a record breaking one that you'd imagine almost all of the side would be from that era. However perhaps there were some individuals in other teams that supporters thought have contributed just as much in their time, Cureton, Forster, Caskey to name but 3 perhaps.

So enter your best 11 from the noughties (in whatever formation you wish) and we'll see how what comes out.

Or you could not bother at all, I'm not that fussed really just trying to get a little more lateral discussion going on.

Any side without either Bas Savage, Paul Brooker or Keith Scott will be an absolute disgrace!

Who would be manager?

Add in Bullivant as "coach" and Burns in charge of dealings with agents, (with a nice big briefcase for all those brown envelopes), plus of course Kebe in for McIntyre and you would have possibly the worst shower of losers and charlatans ever to disgrace this once proud football club.

Although if we're talking only from 2000 onwards, quite a few of those are disqualified.

Hislop

Murty
Shorey
Williams/Wdowczyk
Sonko (pre-injury of course)

Little
Osbourn
Sidwell
Convey (or Hunt if he'd promise to play as he did for the 3 months he was any good!)

Kitson
Doyle (Upfront is a tough one to call as I'd love to include Forster and Quinn too but I can't)

How anyone can include Parky in the side is beyond me by the way.

EDIT: just realised this was suppsed to be the 00's. Back to the drawing board!

Well done. This is a thread designed to discuss and celebrate the best of the last 10 years regardless of what your opinion is of the current set up.I would have thought even the narrowest of minds could have managed to add something constructive to that given some of the great times we've seen over the last 10 years. Sadly I appeared to have over estimated you

If you want to conmtinue your incessant childish monotony can you kindly do it on the other plethora of threads which are designed for it. There's a good chap.
