Agreed with most on here. Forster is one of my favourite ever Reading players, and he was our foremost attacking threat for much of his time here - and that from the right wing as well as playing up front. He changed the game against Wigan in 2001, he was electric.

Two nice finishes today.
1. a little chip over the keeper, as the keeper slid down to save it.
2. a nice turn and shot through the keepers legs.

he did have a 3rd in the net but was ruled out for offside.

Along with Shaka, Forster is my favourite ever Royal. His goal scoring record may not have been as prolific as the likes of Cureton and Butler but unlike those two he could create a goal out of nothing.Really glad he's doing well at the moment.

Judging from the highlights he was very unlucky not to get a hattrick. He looks very comfortable at this level, I wonder if anyone will come in for him in Jan?

Forster was the reason it was worth going to matchdays, just for the odd occassion where he'd decide to beat a team on his own. Blackpool, Preston, Ipswich, Wigan to name a few. When he was in the mood, simply unplayable. Kamara once referred to him as 'the poor man's Thierry Henry' which for a stage in the Championship, he was.

In my top 5 ever, great player to watch, good servant to the club and he's probably still better at 36 than the ton of shite currently on the payroll.

I can't see it - I think he's happy to play out his career down there. He does a lot of coaching with kids' teams and may be lined up for a proper coaching role there.

Doesn't surprise me in the least that he would want to go into management; whenever I spoke to him he came over as that rarest of creatures - an intelligent, thoughtful footballer who clearly understood the game. (You would be surprised how many footballers don't!) The offside thing was interesting - he said that he would deliberately get himself offside in the early stages of games to lull defenders into a false sense of security, then trusted his pace with the extra half yard that he got on the defender later in the half.

The last time I bumped into him was at a Brighton hotel (I work for a Brighton based company and was down there for a do) towards the end of last season; he still had a lot of time for Reading and described it as his favorite playing period (injury excluded).

More than chuffed that he is still getting the goals down on the South coast.

Brilliant goal from Forster yesterday. Great overhead shot and even the fans of the opposition (Walsall) applauded it.

Forster great player love him. Must admit to thinking that when his pace goes he'd had it. At Ipswich had a few injuries and it looked like he was done but at Brighton he's been sensational for them, and has done really well to adapt his game from what he was here.

HEre though he was like the championship's Thiery Henry. Sheer pace, could lead the line on his own and score goals on his own. What we would give to have him aged 25 in our side right now.

His pace is holding up pretty darn well for a 36 year old. Great player. Great career. Shame he didn't play in the Prem
