Archie's penalty Maybe but he deliberately did it to incite the fans. And what he did to Van Persie (who was apparently one of his only friends at Arsenal) makes me ill.

Not the best way to make friends Emmanuel.

And Henry didn't vs Spurs? (See linked on page 1) :|

IMO Adebayor should get an award from Greater Manchester Police for stamping on that clog wearing, pot smoking, cheese eating, rapist KUNT Van Persie

this is my reply yesterday from my Arsenal supporting mate to that argument about Henry

"had he played for Spurs? Had Spurs made him the player he is albeit an overrated one season streak of antelope piss. No. What a kunt"

Yep agree with that (and basically said it on page 2).

And to Big foot - yep he was inciting them but he didn't have a history with them. Whatever I am strongly on the Adebayor is a pcunt side.

I think it is the 'Adebayor / his mothers a whore' bit he didn't like. They also sung that while he played for Arsenal

Leaving the stamping aside, which is a seperate debate, I think the celebration was great. Thank god all footballers aren't performing robots and there is still passion and individual emotion in the game. That's the romance of football surely?

I would have probably reacted in the same way if I was an Arsenal fan - but it's all in the heat of the moment. I''m sure the Arsenal fans know deep down that if you dish it out you've got to expect it back. All in all it adds to the drama of the match, and reminds you why there's nothing like being there as a fan rather than sitting on your arse watching it on the telly.

C*nt. 3 game ban I hope.

Wow. Incendiary.

Calm down kids.

Shocker if the FA do anything about the celebration. Dealt with (correctly) by the referee on the pitch.

Nothing says outburst of emotion better than a premeditated run the entire length of the pitch

Thats exactly the song. I was at Everton v Arsenal on the opening day, and they were even singing then.

My mate who's an Arsenal fan, went to Man City saturday. He said they were giving him loads of stick. He wasnt surprised by the way he celebrated.

How is it a premeditated run of the entire length of the pitch if it would be a lot shorter run if he'd scored in the first half?

Firstly, had Adebayor been a rugby player and did what he did to Van Persie who would be facing far more than a 3 match ban (unless he is South African of course....).

As for his celebration, he SHOULD get a ban for the following reason; in recent weeks we have seen a West Ham player celebrate a goal in front of Millwall fans that was pretty stupid in view of the situation re: the fans, and then we saw Tyson inciting Derby fans; the FA are petrified that the only thing which will stuff up England's chances of getting the 2018 World Cup is the perceived threat of crowd trouble - Platini and Blatter will do all they can to deny us the Finals and crowd trouble could well be their excuse.

Therefore ANY player who does anything that incites a crowd to kick off is going to get hammered hard in order to discourage others from doing it.

I would argue that Arsenal fans singing racist songs about Adebayor would have more impact on our 2018 World Cup bid than a few fans getting angry in the stands.

I'm sorry, but grown men have to take responsibility for their own actions. Adebayor didn't remove his shirt, didn't leave the pitch. He just celebrated a goal in front of fans who have been giving him merciless stick since before he even left Arsenal.

Grow the fcuk up and take it like a man. And move on.

The whole furore over this celebration is exactly what is wrong with sanitised, over hyped modern day football. Take a look at Phil McNulty's blog on the BBC site, and the panning he is getting from most of the real fans on there.
