I can only think of Blackburn, Doncaster and Shamrock.

I'd of thought our resident expert on Rovers would of done better

I'm not. And don't you bloody mention Huddersfield.

I presume you're making a wind up with your deliberate use of the word "of". Twice.

I think "Rovers" is supposed to be a nickname, not an actual state of affairs.

But they should be called the "Dogs." The Barking Dogs.

... pretty dull really - according to Wiki they are called 'The Blues' - then again when I looked up Enfield Town a month or so back someone had been 'creative' with their updates - their nickname was supposedly : 'The Nobheads' and their capacity was stated as : "One Man and His Dog"!

I quite like Wantage Town's nickname - 'The Alfreds' and wonder if Wokkers fans are slightly embarrassed that they are now called 'The Satsumas'. :?

handbags_harris
papereyes
handbags_harris So what do you suggest Floyders? An old-industry nickname, such as the Seed Sowers? Or a new-industry nickname such as the IT Technicians?

The Spread Sheet Warriors?

Good attempt, but Spread Sheet Warriors would encompass only a section of workers who utilise IT, mainly those in finance I suppose. Oracle do online systems encompassing spreadsheets, and they are a big company I suppose. But for me, thinking about it the Keyboard Warriors is more universal. And I also know there is a small company on Thames Valley Park which manufactures keyboards, which gives the name credibility.

All together now:

COOOOOME ONNNNNN YOU KEYBOARDS!!!

The PDP-11.

Didn't Roy Race leave Melchester rovers and join another club - presumably so the comic could still be called roy of the rovers. What was the name of the club he joined, before going back to Melchester Rovers?

It should be The Proclaimers, owing to our singing of ‘500 Miles’ at every opportunity.
