BR2 The point is that nobody else wanted him even at the knockdown £300,000
As mentioned earlier I am glad that he is coming not least because it is a forward and our options up front are currently poor-my worry is that Keith Scott cost something similar as did Goater.
Before anybody throws back at me Doyle and Kitson they were both young.

Watford and Swansea wanted him. Watford couldn't afford his wages, we beat Swansea to getting him. So other teams did want him.

We would like Fernando Torres but wages could be a problem so Watford is not a good example.
Swansea have already got Trundle back and are getting Beattie from WBA.

Well it is a good example because you said no one wanted him except us!

Yeah because one of the best strikers in the world playing for one of the 4 biggest clubs in England is comparable to Watford not being able to afford Rasiak's wages. Like it or not, we are competeing with clubs like Watford, not Liverpool.

The fact remains, you said no one else wanted him and I've pointed out two clubs straight away that did.

Ian and Deathy are you really that dumb?
To say Watford were interested but don't have the money means that they couldn't pursue any interest.
Likewise much as we would like to buy Torres we don't have a spare £100 million-get it?

Incomparable examples.

And doesn't change the fact two teams other than us wanted him and were actively pursuing him. Accept that you were wrong about no one else wanting him.

I expect the players coming in will be "Transition" players - safe, steady, uninspiring. The sort needed in times of change (and really the sort of signings that should have happened before the start of the season).

Probably won't get us near the play offs this season but should help to stop any emergencies and help the potential that we have to develop without any undue pressures.

Clearly it's you that's dumb. You said no one else wanted Rasiak, and we provide you with 2 clubs that did. One of them (Watford), had a bid accepted and discussed terms with the player, but Rasiak's wage demands were above Watford's means and Watford ended their interest.

Oh dear,I can understand why a lot of posters have left the board in recent times when we have to try and debate with the likes of you and Ian,oh and Spacey of course.
As I recall it you are the bloke that changes his mind every 5 minutes and Ian is the ultimate RTG who can be as blind about RFC as Spaceyis in failing to hear or read what we say before jumping in with both feet.

Goater was £500K, Scott was £250K. So, yeah, similiar.

 It's not much of a debate, is it? You said no one else wanted Rasiak, it's pointed out to you that two other clubs did, and you're still arguing the toss.

We use young players "no experience!!" whine the keyboard warriors.

We bring in experienced players "they are too old!" whine the keyboard warriors.

We bring in players for £300K "They must be rubbish at that price!" whine the keyboard warriors.

When we sign David james, Rio Ferdinand and Lionel Messi for a combined fee of 89 pence, what on Earth will the keyboard warriors have to whine about then I wonder?

Its SOOOOOO easy to bitch and moan and snipe and be sarcastic about what the club are doing/trying to do, but I wonder if certain posters ever think - even for a moment - about actually SUPPORTING the club? Its pretty easy banging your rumble-stix when we are getting 106 points, or finishing just shy of a UEFA spot (and if my memory serves me right, similar voices to those being heard now were still moaning then!!) but the mark of a true supporter is someone who supports their team when the going gets toughest and when things aren't going well.

Pathetic and embarrassing. No wonder fans of other clubs laugh at our fans - not a surprise when they start whining like a stuck up school girl the moment things don't go the way they want them too.

As a neutral to this otherwise useless arguement, it is you, BR2, that looks a bit stupid. They are pointing out the obvious and you are still bickering. And you make a point of saying "I can understand why a lot of posters have left the board in recent times when we have to try and debate with the likes of..."

Perhaps you shouldn't post.

I was going to let it go, but +1 to this.
