Al-Fahim completes his takeover.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 222718.stm

Will he really rubber stamp the Tommy Smith deal, when his mate's signing Tevez, Adebayor etc?

Pompey fans are hopeful that the takeover will stop the Tommy Smith move going through.

There is also talk that Paul Hart has been/or will be sacked as will Peter Storrie.

This could throw a big fat spanner in the works.

From Smiths point of view - would you want to join a club that has four strikers already and will likely be signing big names which will all be ahead of him in the pecking order.

surely this transfer cant have another twist......

Brendan Rodgers remains hopeful of adding attacking options to his squad before the end of the transfer window.

Rodgers said, "The players are working really well, we've had players going out and we need to get players in, that's going to be very important. We just need that wee bit of support and that's what we're looking to do.

"There's other players in the pipeline and a few names have been in the fire ever since I came here, and that will be important for the group. The players are giving their all, they're just not getting the rub of the green.

"If we add a couple of players to give us support up the field that will help us move forward. From box to box we are getting there easily, it's just in the final third and those are the players we're looking to bring in.

"We've got young talent in here but it just needs to be dripped in and out, rather than the responsibility of every game. I respect that the club have had to move players on, we've brought a couple in and it's important to do more.

"To help those here, it will be better for us all if we can get things done. We've got exciting talents here, good experience and we need that wee bit of support. As a manager you need patience and perseverance. On the pitch we will have that, and that will bring us our results. Off the field you need it too."

I understand that Al Fahim was going to get shot of Hart if he took over the club - if that is indeed the case, and it is true that he has now formally taken the reins at the club, then it could be that he's about to issue the order of the boot to Hart, and with that any deals that havent been completed...that could be the reason for any announcement delay

Alternatively, it xould be that Al Fahim wants to grab the glory and the headlines before the media move onto Pompey's minor transfer activities! :D

You havent heard then - we are so dire that the only way we are going to get back to Premiership is to merge with a team already there - this formed part of the deal to take Bikey to Burnley! :)

I have a feeling in my water that this still could have more twists and turns than a twisty turny thing.

Sounds like its all as clear as mud on the south coast!----

Sulaiman Al-Fahim has announced that he has officially bought Portsmouth Football Club from Alexandre Gaydamak and that his company, Al Fahim Asia Associates is now the owner.

A very brief statement from the official website read:

Devondale Investments, the current owner of Portsmouth FC and Al Fahim Asia Associates (AAA), a company fully owned by Sulaiman Al-Fahim, chairman of the board of Portsmouth FC, have reached an agreement whereby AAA has become the sole new owner of the club.

Sulaiman Al-Fahim welcomed this agreement and and looks forward to helping this club build on its impressive history and achieve new successes in the Premier League.

The chairman of the club would like to extend his gratitude to the players, staff and supporters of Portsmouth FC who have shown an extraordinary level of commitment and loyalty to this great club.

However, this statement has now disappeared from the official website so now it is uncertain what is going on. There has been no press conference or any statement at all from Peter Storrie who claimed that his own consortium was close to tying up a deal.

So whether Al-Fahim really is the owner now, nobody knows for certain as the plot thickens...

More to follow....
