The Vancouver Sun The town of 140,000 is perhaps best known in Canada as the punch line in a recurring joke on the CBC Radio program As it Happens, whose hosts routinely (and inexplicably) make reference to Reading.

Erm, why? Those crazy Canadians :|

The Vancouver Sun "He could well be the world's most dedicated footsie fan," the tabloid Mirror reported in its story

Footsie indeed

I thought Reading's population was higher than that. Exeter and Cambridge are about 100k and they feel much smaller.

I thought Cambridge did an Oxford and ghettoised the poor people outside the ring road.

Reading is just a dirty smear from Pangbourne to Windsor.

To be fair to Blackie, he did shout out one of the best comments I've heard at football.

Walking in the crowd after a game once, as we walked past a mounted policeman, he just pointed at him and shouted out "...and you can get off your high horse as well"
