Finerain.

When karacan was dropped from the team we started playing badly and loosing games. When he came back we picked up some form again. He had a bad game at brum but thats 1 compared to harpers dozen. Not that im knocking him because I do think harper is a very good player.

PEARCEY He shouldn't be past his best at 28 but he does need a fresh challenge. .

Well I was hoping that might be under a new manager with a new squad.
If he does go, are we in danger of over selling our experienced players?

I too am a big Harper fan but a good few quid in the bank rather than him leaving on a freebie in a year seems a decent option. I would be as happy to see him offered a new contract but I'm not sure he'll be looking for that at this time.

Another thing I'd be sniffing around if I was Hammond or Rodgers would be the idea of taking Sam Vokes off them in exchange. I think he's a decent young striker who could do a job for us this year.

Not sure this idea is x-files conspiracy enough for finerain or not though?

Remember Harper played against Ipswich in the 02/03 season and never lost his place from there.

He's scored a few belters for us, favourite was probably the one against Rotherham at home from edge of the area.

Sadly his creativity was never quite what I expected, he served us well but it's really time for him to move on now I think.

I was surprised that we didn't go for Vokes when Wolves snapped him up.
He is a different type of striker to what we had a year ago and now-big and strong and good in the air and of course he has played in a front two with Church for the Wales u21s.
At the time he left Bournemouth we had earlier loaned out 4 players to that club and I had hoped that at £400,000 we would have gone for him.
With Wolves having quite a few strikers I agree with you I would like to see him with us and who knows, there has to be some dialogue between the clubs this season which could yet see it happen even if it is one year on after a season when we could have done with him..

Deals dead according to Mick

I'm pleased that he won't be following Doyle and Hahnemann to that cesspit.

From that report, I think he may have failed the medical?

Well, let's hope he gets fully fit again and pushing for a place............and for the teams sake I hope he struggles to get in. This will
mean the team are playing well, including the midfield.

I hope the deal is dead. Harper could be invaluable this season if Rodgers can get the best out of him. I really think he could flourish again in a midfield three.

As soon as Harper came back from the talks to think it over I was hoping he wouldn't go. Wolves didn't like the way Lita dithered on the move and I was hoping this would go the same way.

Bad news to hear that Harps is still struggling with his injury. He didn't look himself against Chelsea I have to admit.

Very pleased to hear that Harps will be staying. I think it would have required a very good deal and some assurances about playing for Harper to move. I think he likes it here and knows he is on to a good thing. He's seen others move on and not live up to their status at Reading and doesn't want top make the same mistakes.

He's in for a tough season here, with a lot of fighting for his place. But he could and hopefully will be a very big player for us again this season. He won player of the season the last time we played with three across the middle of the park and he is one of the best and most reliable passers of the ball we have.

Why is this in TEAM? It's not happened has it? He's still at Reading? Stick it back in UR&G where it belongs! I've just trawelled through pages of shit to find out if he's been sold and to whom and it's all just rummour and speculation!

Because it's been confirmed that a bid was accepted and Harper has been in talks, so it isn't a rumour or gossip.

It's not a rumour that he's talked to Wolves though. That's now a fact. Maybe the thread title should be changed to reflect this fact.

But that whole UR&G forum is for shit just like this. Stick it in there please, until it is confirmed by the club that he's moved on at which time it can get back to the Team.

I'd be surprised if Harps failed the medical tbh. It's been mentioned many times that he is far an away the fittest player at the club. Unless this current injury has done some real damage of course.

I'm glad he's still here. Never been his greatest fan, but i'd like to see him playing in a midfield 3 to see if it might compliment his abilities.

Shame it's fallen through, could've used his wages and the fee to bring in someone we need much more up front.

To be fair I started the thread in UR&G and it got moved for some reason.
