Huntley & Palmer Times today says that Fulham are the most interested party having watched him in the last two International games for Ireland. Would be a good club for him to go to

Surely Manchester United will be coming in now that they need a replacement for Ronaldo.

Coppell gave him an extra wadge of money and promised him a first team place for the next god knows how many seasons.

How many players have been snapped up? Even Lita is clubless at the moment. At least let Hunt finish his holiday. Besides, if no one wants him. We have to keep him and pay his wages.

Thanks for your footballing insight there! I hadn't realised that if he doesn't go, we keep him and have to pay his wages  My point was that if he thinks he's so good, surely he must be expecting to have been snapped up by a Prem club by now.

Tommy Smith is an improvement on Hunt anyway so not to worry.

I will worry if no-one signs SHunt and we're still paying his extortionate wages.

Maybe, instead of giving him a big rise, putting him on Premiership wages (and then some)
we should've promised him a bonus of 10K a week back-dated IF WE GOT PROMOTION

The point was giving him enough to placate him so he didn't kick up a fuss and demand a move for less than we valued him at. He was unlikely to settle for a we might pay you more if we go up agreement.

But he couldn't demand a move for less that £5m, as he had that clause put in at the last contract, hence the higher wages at that time.

We made a decision that hasn't worked out brilliantly. What did you want us to do? Shrug our shoulders and let one of the two main reasons we were in the top 2 at Xmas walk out for less than we valued him at?

We may yet get plenty of cash for him. We may yet keep him and get an entire season of good form out of him.

There was nothing in your suggestion for Hunt. Take the chance that you may go up with Reading and get a big pay rise? Force a move to a Prem club or get a big payrise were probably all he was going to settle for.
