Dirk and Ian - fair responses thanks.

I guess one could legitimately ask me how long I was going to wait for Lita to come good. How many chances would he deserve etc.

Fair enough.

A bit of a shock I suppose.

At one time, I think he was *the* most exciting player we had. This moment would have been the summer after 06-07, coming off a fantastic Euro U21 tournament.

But in that tournament was the other side of the beast - for every well taken finish, there was an open goal missed.

I thought he was going to be on fire the following season - but he missed the start of it with an injury suffered through "off the field" activities. His story in a nutshell....

Frewen is the one that surprises me, as I understood that he was supposed to be very promising. Lita has had opportunities to sign a new deal with us in the last two years but preferred to wind his contract down. No way should we offer him another one now. Good luck and goodbye.

No - just goodbye, as far as I'm concerned.

M-U-R-T-Y he's M-U-R-T-Y he knows he is he's sure he is he's M-U-R-T-Y! Thank you Murts for your time at the club and I'm really looking forward to the testimonial

USA I'm also sad to see go, although it is the right time. Lita and Doobs not so much due to their poor performances of late and i'm SO glad Doobs won't be captain anymore!

Pleased to see Bryn has got a new 1yr contract though as he could be a key experienced player with youngsters being brought into the team

What? A mass text message of him riding some blonde slag and pulling the world's worst sex face.

Yes. That would haunt the SHIT out of me.

Not surprised by the players released but it really does bring to an end a golden era with some fantastic memories

Ian Royal
2 world wars, 1 world cup As others have commented on but I've yet to see a satisfactory answer:

1) Why get rid of Lita? A fantastic player who may have had a dip in form because of his poor relationship with Coppell. I as very much looking forward to renewed enthusiasm under another boss. Getting rid of him is a real shame.

1) Off the pitch problems, attitude issues, failure to produce anything for the club in 2 years. Hell, even Kitson who was a shadow of his former self scored twice this season for us.

You are forgetting that Leroy was offered a new 3 year deal last year when he had 12 months to run on his contract. In the event he turned it down and decided to run his contract down presumably because he thought he could do better elsewhere. In the circumstances there was no way that the Club would have offered him a new deal at this stagwe.

AlexY25 Murts should be given some kind of coaching role.... :?
A decision best left to the new manager.
