Should we look to Scotland?

by Alan Partridge » 13 Jan 2009 13:48

Jason Scotland that is...whenever I've seen him he's been a right brute up front, his goalscoring record for Swansea has been superb over the last two years. If we were or are after something a bit different up there with Lita potentially leaving, think we could do a hell of a lot worse than him.

Any thoughts? other suggestions?

I think he'd be a good signing that would fit into our price bracket. and you can imagine him contiuning to do it in the Premierhsip as well.

Whats interesting is how little information we have on who potentially might replace Lita - normally the rumour mill offers up a bit more.

I was impressed with Bradley Wright Phillips and Matty Fryatt can do no wrong although probably suspect at Premiership (and even Championship level)

I still think David Healy would be well suited to the Coppell style.

Said this last week. He's the Kenwyn Jones of the division. Big and powerful, can hold the ball up and a good scoring record.

Admittedly Jones has never played in League 1 and Scotland never in the Prem but even in the Championship I don't think Jones has got as many goals as Scotland. Think he's more of a goalscorer than KJ and I think KJ is a bit taller than him. Similarish but I wouldn't say a direct comparison.

How do I know which bit? This thread is mere suggestion, although with Lita staying will be confined to the bin for a while!

Only when I've caught him on TV on 3 occasions that Swansea have played and once at the Mad House so it's hardly a library of footage, just in those limited games he's impressed me as a strong player who has a knack of scoring. Also just looking at his record, generally recognise when someone scores consistently, 25 goals in the league for them last season and 11 goals this season so far. So a mere suggestion, I don't know he'd be a good signing, he might flop completely, be out of our price range or not for sale.

No need for another striker.
Lita's staying. We have a Plan B.

Plan A: Wing play with Doyle and N Hunt, S Hunt and Kebe wingers.
Plan B: Through the middle, Lita and Doyle with Matejovsky playing the balls.
Plan C: A bit of both. :D

No harm in stirring things up at Swansea though and making a flashy bid for Scotland before Saturday..... :D

"We have Cisse".

Scotland offers something Doyle, NHunt, Lita and Long don't.

It has been said that he would be within our price range but I don't see that personally. I'm sure it would take atleast £3 million for Swansea to even consider letting him go.
