Eyes on Daggers star
Okuonghae attracting interest
Last updated: 8th January 2009
Dagenham & Redbridge defender Magnus Okuonghae is attracting interest from clubs in the Championship and League One.
The Nigerian-born stopper, who can play at right-back or centre-half, has had an impressive season for the Daggers.
The 22-year-old, who began his career with Fulham, has enjoyed spells with Rushden & Diamonds, St Albans and Crawley Town.
He is now emerging as one of the most promising defenders in League Two, which has seen the likes of Charlton, Reading, Colchester, Leyton Orient and Peterborough checking on his displays.
Okuonghae's current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and Dagenham are anxious to offer him fresh terms.
If no new deal is struck then the Daggers would no doubt look to cash in on him before he is able to discuss a possible move at the end of the season, although as he is only 23 when the campaign finishes they would be due compensation.
