Harry Carry given that Doyle and Hunt will be on their way to Villa and Everton respectively in January.

Well, we really are stuffed now that Benitez has resigned, Mourinho's taken his place, Hughes is off to Inter, being replaced by Bruce with Tony Pulis going to Wigan leaving Steve Coppell as hot favourite to take over at Stoke.

I mean FFS.

I recall that in 2004/5 there were quite a number of fans who were a little unhappy that we were out in front so early and would rather have been chasing because they felt the pressure was not so intense when coming from behind.

I wonder whether they are the self-same people who are unhappy because we are so far behind Wolves and Birmingham at the moment.

winchester_royal Some people forget that in this league, anyone can win on their day, the soton game proved that.

6 points is not an unassailable lead by any stretch of the imagination, nor is 13 for that matter.

And Birmingham have lost at home to Coventry and Blackpool.

Harry Carry is the gap between Wolves and Reading.

Do you think they'll be able to claw that back given that Doyle and Hunt will be on their way to Villa and Everton respectively in January.

You could believe that Doyle might go to Villa but the idea of Hunty going to Everton other than as an assistant groundsman is just silly.

I don't think Reading will be able to resist Villas bid of 8.5m for Doyle and Evertons 4m for Hunt.

papereyes I don't enjoy other football fans, if that's what you mean.

We're third, we're generally playing great football, we're doing better than most expected, it's only football anyway - what's to moan about ffs?

They won't be able toresist a bid of £5m for Hunty, that's all.

Some will always think "it could have been better if only....".

Unless their team is running away with the league every team will have its "if only" supporters.

As long as it's generally enjoyable entertainment and fun to talk about that's good enough for me.

That's my point. Look at Floyd - has he _ever_ enjoyed a Reading match? I think not.

I think he enjoys the games, except when they're really bad (I remember him suggesting after one away game last Novemeber that "that was the performance of a team going down") - I swear I've seen him smile at a match.

I think what annoys him, and clearly did in this thread, is other people.

Wycombe Royal
Reading Til I Die however 12 points is a big gap to Wolves........

It's not like Wolves have a history of throwing away leads like that is it?

Er...Reading/Pardew/Desperately needing a point at Brentford?
I think our destiny revolves around the January transfer window and which clubs are buying to improve their squads and which ones are failing to hold on to their better players.

A camel has fallen off a lorry on the M69 and killed Martin O'Neill's favourite fishmonger.

After looking in the archive Wolves seem to be two points to the good against our 2005/06 season:

Doyle won't be going anywhere. When he said theat he was going to say at the club he said it categorically. He didn't say the usual "I'm off" sort of stuff, you know "It's not in my hands", "we'll see what happens in January" etc etc. If people choose to disbelieve that then good luck to them, but it was fairly clear to me.

In any case, in spite of the opinions of certain people on here, SHunt would be a bigger loss than Doyle. The reason Doyle didn't do too well last year was because the service just wasn't up to it. Given the sort of service provided by our midfield it almost doesn't matter who the striker is - he'll score goals. Look at how well NHunt has fitted in. It's no coincidence that a lot of opposition fans are saying that SHunt and Kebe are the difference between us and their team.

And another thing, we are only 4 games behind Wolves and 2 games behind Brum. If we get the double against Brum, we're there. I wish people wouldn't take a bad result or two and use it as justification for their doom-laden prophecies. I also wish that people will not open their eyes, or at least remove the blinkers and realise that maybe they were wrong in their original opinion about players. No chance of either of those things changing.

Owwww this hook is hurting my lip!!
