Royal LadySpaceCruiserSchards#2 I'm genuinely embarrassed for you.
We will not know if we are midtable until the end of the season, however many hissy fits you have.
That's right, move the goalposts.
How is that moving the goalposts?? He said, in September, that come the end of the season we wouldn't have made any progress, i.e. that we wouldn't get promoted back to the Prem and that we'd probably end up mid table. How is that moving the goalposts!!
Schards I think we need to get used to mid table championship football at the very best until there is a sea change at this club.

Sun TzuSchards#2 What I do know is that the new contract won't effect the outcome.
Um, no you don't.
You assume, based on a lack of knowledge of the contract, the conversations between club and player and the motivation of the player.
None of us have a clue about the new deal other than it adds a year to the contract. We have no idea what bonuses it includes, what the new salary level is, whether it includes release clauses or even penalty clauses.
Of course it's easy to make brave statements of opinion dressed up as fact when you know they cannot be proved or disproved. I'm sure you''ll revert to the old argument of accusing people of not reading what you write rather than coming down to the elvel of the rest and engaging in a less confrontational discussion.

Royal Lady To be honest, I think he's daft to even bother arguing with any of you. He said COME THE END OF THE SEASON if, indeed, he was wrong, that he would hold his hands up and admit he was wrong. But I will explain to Spacey and anyone else who gets things wrong, what he said. HTH.

Schards#2 and Wycombe Royal has said I called Doyle a liar. Both comments are completely untrue.

Schards#2 I don't know the contents of the contract but why would they be relevent?
If he 's staying because he likes it here then the new contract is irrelevent.
If he's staying because we are prepared to pay more than anyone else then, again, it's irrelevent as, if that's our position, we would have topped any wages offer made by someone else in January.
The "old argument" of people not reading what I write is no less valid for being old. Off the top of my head, on this thread alone, Spacey said I had said we won't win an away game this season and Wycombe Royal has said I called Doyle a liar. Both comments are completely untrue.

Have a go at it then, because his initial posts say nothing about the end of the season but simply list a whole series of things that he sees as being wrong at the club NOW. Many of these have clearly been shown to be incorrect. A simple acknowledgement of that would stop him looking daft (and avoid you looking equally daft by your loyal defence of him)

May I suggest you read the thread title "Re: Hard to see any progress for the forseeable future" above each of the posts on here. Or does your definition of foreseeable future differ from everyone else's and it instead starts at the end of the season?

Schards#2 When Spacey starts majoring on spelling and Wycombe Royal suggests that basically saying someone is not lying is not the same as calling them a liar you have to conclude that they've basically lost the argument.
Wycombe, why not just admit you overstated things a bit instead of trying to wriggle out of it otherwise you look a bit daft frankly.
Oh, and Londinium, go and lie down mate.
