You must be feeling even stupider than usual after recent results.

Am I right saying we have no had a forward score a single goal away from home this season?

Kudos to Schards, that is an unprecidented level of negativity, the Premier League of negativity if you will, the level we all aspire to but only some manage. Getting hacked off over Reading's incompetence is one thing but getting hacked off over possible incompetence, and a scoreline and result that hasn't even happened yet, now that is quality. 8)

As Trollers pointed out, I understandably forgot about the, in no way dull and uninspiring, Doncaster game.

Though i wouldn't be surprised in the least to see a 1-0 reverse tomorrow.

Old Biscuitman I see tomorrow as a crucial game. When it finishes that will be one third of the season gone. We need three points to stay even in moderate touch with the top two. Otherwise there's a risk that the Midlanders will do what Reading and Sheff Utd did three seasons ago.

That 3-0 at Wolves seems a long time back now.

A freak result, much like the trouncing of the Wendys

Although presumably you aren't feeling too clever after recent performances....

A couple of somewhat unfortunate reverses in games we played well in seems to be significant progress from last season, especially when added to our continued good results at home.

Yep, give me a defeat at Burnley over a victory of Liverpool every day of the week.

To suggest that being routinely beaten away from home in The Championship represents progress because it is only by a narrow margin is astonishing even by the standards set by this thread.

I don't think i've stated that, i've stated that it's my opinion that we won't make the play offs.

We are currently 2 points above seventh having played 14 of the pre January games.

It would be if that was what was suggested.

But it wasn't.

I do enjoy looking back at the original post on this thread whenever the economic news gets too much and having a good chuckle. Bizarre, barmy but achieved it's aim in provoking an ongoing reaction so well done Schards.

Fair play for being so optimistic/confident but come January time things could well be looking a hell of a lot tougher for RFC.

I will take anyones money that we finish top two (which is what I predicted pre season)

Brum have been awful and nicked wins by the odd goal in the last minute etc. This is unlikely to last all season. We, by contrast have played well in several games and got anything from them, likewise this is unlikely to last all season.

I know people will say its points that matter and not performances, but in the long run they do go hand in hand.

As long as they have Kevin Phillips to bring off the bench (as opposed to Shane Long, for example), there seems to be a reasonable chance that they will score plenty of late goals.

the only freak about the Wednesday result was that they kept it to 6-0.

As the thread from the Wolves board highlighted, none of their fans thought it was a freak result.

The fact is, as inconsistent as we are away from home, suggestions that we are midtable at best are laughably negative. If anyone thinks half the sides in this division are better than us then they need their head examined.
