The whole year inn Who exactly is responsible for this?

Whoever it is obvioulsy thinks that whoever reads the website has no access to the millions of other websites/televison/radio etc etc etc that have reported the sale.

LOLame

The official site isn't there to publish rumours - that is what all these other sites are for.

They will report it when it has been finalised.

Was Dave's cold signed off by the Club Doctor? Of course.

They'll tell us whatever they want to tell us, no more, no less.

Royal Rother
Hoop Blah We did have successful spells without Kitson in the side, but we looked a better team with Kitson playing and Coppell frequently talked about Kitson being the central player to the way he wanted to the team to play.....

Would you not agree that our best ever team was the one that took us to 8th in the Premier League? Kitson (through no fault of his own of course) didn't contribute a lot to that achievement.

I'd agree that it was our most successful side yes, that's kind of why I said we had successful spells without him in the side. I would agrue that we were a better, more attractive more threatening side with more attacking options (and defending for that matter) with Kitson in the side.

In my opinion, our best ever team includes Kitson.

Royal Rother We played very well without him for most of that season and will do so again next season I'm sure.

Move on, look forwards not backwards. Sure, he was class at times and was great to watch but you place an unrealistic amount of importance on his contribution to the team.

Maybe it is unrealistic importance because we managed to carry on our success without him for the 06-07 season. Personally I just think we were better with him and he's a cog that isn't easily replaced in the squad. I'd much rather watch a side with a player of his type getting the ball down and bringing others into the game as opposed to yet another pacey more one-dimensional centre forward working the channels and playing the percentages.

We will move on without him, of course we will. I don't think I've said otherwise, I've just said that he will be almost impossible to replace with a like for like player.

And you know for certain that Kitson didn't phone in sick do you? They were just reporting what he told them and as they had already issued the lineup they had to give a reason for him being missing.

The EP claim that he was genuinely ill for the Forest Green match but didn't play at H&W due to the move that materialised on Wednesday.

brendywendy LOL

ive lost count of teh number of times that any team have said someone is ill, or doing some family stuff when actually they dont want to play them in case an injury scuppers a prospective deal

and stop with the money stuff-the accounts are in the public domain-im not going through them again!the debts to mr mad are well known
there simply is no huge pot of cash hoarded away here at RFC
especially when you take into account we will probably make a multimillion pound loss this coming season-even with the wage/squad reductions.

i am impressed with the investment that stoke are putting in though-even if im not sure its going to work
simply cant see reading buying anyone for close to 4-6 million, and thats probably why we went down

Could someone post up, in a format that is understandable to someone who isn't an accountant, details of the total income and the total wageroll for the last available set of figures.

Surely income must have, at least, trebled from Championship to Premiership.

All this discussion about Kitson's importance to the team. Perhaps some facts?

Readings goals in a season_____________DK's goals_____________%
07/08 = 41 goals_____________________10___________________24%
06/07 = 52 goals_____________________2____________________3% (Though he was out injured for a long period. He also scored 2 FA Cup goals)
05/06 = 99 goals_____________________18___________________18% (He did also score 4 cup goals....)
04/05 = 51 goals_____________________19___________________37%

Overall = 243 goals___________________49___________________20%

Make what you will of that.

Why Stoke? Wigan I could understand, Sunderland, West Ham etc....but Stoke....he will be back in the CCC next season. I can't believe he would rather play for Stoke in the Prem.......hes going to become the next Robert Earnshaw....ie we've just been promoted lets buy Kitson.

Kind of puts paid to the argument from the club that newly promoted clubs struggle to attract players.. Stoke are about to do it, and Hull have grabbed a couple.

Sorry to say, its one of the reasons we are playing CCC football again.

This must be one of the best deals done in football; plenty of goals, work rate high and we´ve almost certainly redeemed everything we´ve paid for and to him. Good luck, Dave but for five large...

You are just annoyed because your username is defunct. :P

Kitson get another year guarantted in the Premiership, at the end of that he'll will either still be in the Prem OR if he's done well will quite possibly get a move to another Premiership club.

Beggars can't be choosers, and it sounds as if Stoke are the only ones to show real interest, as it stands they are a more attractive club than us, they've shown as the money, fanks and cya.

As some of us have already said Kitson brought much more to our team both as a link player and as a defender at set-pieces.
From what I saw of Morrison last season he looked like a player approaching the end of his career in a side where others did the running-he also looked weak in the air.
The other point suggesting that Kitson has been disruptive-it never looked like that on the pitch where he always looked a team player.
It strikes me as hilarious that he is thought to be disruptive(cropping up much more now that he is leaving)-what about those great examples of team ethic in Lita,Sonko and Fae?

"No player is irreplacable" is often spouted by clubs and fans alike-that may be true but it took us some years to find natural successors to Dixon and Senior so let us hope we don't have to wait so long this time.

One final point about Pulis/Stoke playing "long-ball"-didn't anybody see us play last season?

It does make me wonder if some of the players weren't too bothered about relegation last year if they knew they could just transfer to another Prem team this year.

I am not saying they played badly deliberately or didn't try hard but if at the back of their minds they knew it didn't really matter to their careers it must have had a detrimental affect on their commitment. Maybe that is why last year the hunger wasn't so apparent nor the great team spirit of the previous few years. Maybe Marcus was right.

I'll just change it to Murtydinho. I just can't understand the logic of moving to a team who are going to struggle just because they are in the Prem..It just seems a really short term idea...I know you could have said that about us....and look who we purchased whe we went up! I see it in the same way as Sidders move to Chelsea....it just seems a bit counter-productive. Just like Sidders he won't be there this time next year.
