Kitsonista Bryn was the better player last season, Sid was a passenger in some games. We always looked brighter, sharper and more energetic when the Gunner was fired up. I always look forward to watching him play. he anticipates, he marshalls and he moves well. Sid seemed content on occasions to lumber up and down the pitch and put in the odd tackle now and then. Harps was working overtime when paired with Sid. Harps has shown his true potential, Sid looks a spent force. Harps and the Gunn, best pairing in midfield.

Still I'd warm a bench for a couple of seasons for that sort of money, who can blame him. Good luck and goodbye, for every Sid supporter, he's gone - :) get over it.

So in answer to my question you think B Coppell's an idiot?? And thanks to him we've under performed in the last two seasons? Would have loved to have seen what we've achieved without having to carry Sidwell and a decent manger in the last two seasons.

Do you actually read what's written before banging off a reply. Read my Words: Where did I say Coppell was an idiot, what analysis did you use to come to that conclusion. I had prepared a fuller answer but the words "can't be" and "ar*ed" comes into it.

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe earlier For the millionth time why did Coppell not play Bryn instead of Sid for the last two seasons?

The answer is either A. Because you're wrong and Sidwell the better player. And as Coppell has said we need to replace him with a player better than we currently have/

Or B. Coppell's an idiot and with Bryn and Harps playing centre mid we'd have got 130 points in the Championship and won the Premiership last season..

You've said that you think Gunnarsson was better than Sidwell last season. That kind of fits with his answer B, therefore you are an idiot.

You think Bryn's a better player than Sid and proved it last season? So you must think Coppell was wrong to keep playing him as according to you Bryn was the better player last season and even more surprisingly you thought Sid looked a spent force. So despite in your mind Sidwell being a spent force Coppell carried on playing him week after week.

So... some people are idiots for suggesting that the current squad is as capable as last years, and the rest are idiots for not recognising the talent within the current squad.

So everybody's an idiot. How enlightening.

Yes I think that Bryn played better than Sids on a number of occasions. But that doesn't mean:

1) I think Coppells an idiot

2) I don't like Sid as a player.

Sid's mind was elsewhere towards the end of the season, Bryn wanted first team football and gave a better performance. Personally I think that we will do well as a team, because of the way Coppell inspires the the players. With Cisse Bryn Oster and possibly Bikey pushing for a place alongside Harps, who was brilliant last season, it may well be that we don't need another player, but Coppell will buy one if he thinks the price and fit is right. He's the man and he's paid to make decisions and choices. My opinion differs from lots of people but lots of people also agree. 8)

Why do people have this misconception that Bikey is a central midfielder, have we ever utilised him in any other position other than centre back when he has played?

Hammond on the official site confirming the search for a centre mid continues. Seemed to hint at the foreign market being more accessible but that buying from England is less of a risk. I don't think we'll be able to afford an English player myself, so I'd guess staff will be racking up the air miles in the next few weeks....

I think he did play centre-mid in one or two of the cup games.

At Liverpool for instance, where I thought he looked alright in there. Could do the same thing as Gunnarsson anyway.

Old Biscuitman Move on please you guys. A better debate IMO might be: How many Prem games will Sidwell start for Chelsea next season? My guess - zero.

At least five possibly as many as twenty would be my guess. Though of course Woodcote would play this down as being some sort of ploy by Chelsea to lose the league

Why not swap seats for Wed 15th August and ask the man himself how many games he expects to play?

Why, will he be sat with you on your high horse talking down at everyone? I doubt he will start against us but being Mourinho and with the history of the last home game, he may well put him on the bench as some sort of jibe at us. Hell he may even score a goal, I'd laugh if he did whereas BBC Berks will probably have to stop broadcasting while you swear at the top of your lungs and have a coronary

:P

I won't be giving Sidwell any stick.

For the record, I've got what I wanted from about Christmas onwards......................one over rated midfielder off our wage bill and room in the squad for a replacement of genuine Premiership quality.

Score a goal? :P

If only Sidwell had converted a fraction of the countless chances (many of them easy ones, too :? ) that came his way last season, we might have got a European tour........................in the Champions League.

Bikey is a centre half and nothing else. He's a better footballer than Sonko will ever be, the way Bikey is learning the game and improving he's going to be a star in a couple of years.

I said at Middlesbrough last season (and was laughed at) that Bikey would be better than Sonko within 1 year. I think i'm on track with that to be honest, and i rate Sonko btw.
