Downes and Dillon deals on hold


Kevin Dillon and Wally Downes remain confident they will soon put pen to paper on new contracts despite the fact that early negotiations have stalled.

Steve Coppell’s first-team coaches have been offered two-year extensions to run alongside the manager’s.

But the club’s opening offer has been rejected by Downes, while Dillon has yet to open his letter from the club.


Downes, who is attracting interest from Premiership rivals Portsmouth, said: “I have had a contract offer and there is still a lot to work out, but I am hoping we can continue discussions and everything will come together. The club wants to keep us.â€

But the club’s opening offer has been rejected by Downes

He probably wants the clause about not being allowed to hit Neil Warnock removed.

And Dillon said last week he wasn;t bothered about opening the offer as he knows it will all be sorted....

Coppell only signed a 2 year deal so his team had a bit more security, they will all know what the final package will be I'm sure !
