Wycombe Royal Prior to his injury he had also only scored 2 in 8 appearances, and those 2 were against West Ham, a match in which Ron Grant could probably have socred a couple if he had been playing.
Personally I don't consider going back to performances over four months ago a good way of gauging current form. I guess thats just a personal thing though.
Wycombe Royal Doyle and Kitson are not in golascoring form, and yes that form will return, but in the meantime the others deserve their chance to show what they can do. If they don't get that chance then it sends out a very demotivating message to the other members of the squad who aren't first choice in their respective positions.
I'm all for players getting a chance etc etc, but that chance has to be earned. For me, Long hasn't earned that chance with his performances and is much more effective coming off the bench against tired legs. As someone has probably already said though, Coppell does get to see them train every day and has one eye on the future too, but I don't think we tried our hardest to win that game. Am I overly bothered about it? No not really as I think I've started my count down to the summer and next season already, much like I think the club have.
