Corner urzzv after good work by the Oyster...ooooh

Karacan fired straight at Taylor on 19 after good work down the left from Doyle.

Hogg fired narrowly wide from distance two minutes later as he raced onto a clever flick from Angel.

Moore tested Andersen moments later, but found the keeper equal to a long-range drive as he met another Angel flick.

Gardner dragged a snap shot narrowly past the upright on 25. Moments later Angel headed wide from a Stieber cross.

Reading keeper Andersen twice denied Gardner on 26 as the midfielder raced onto Angel's through ball.
Gardner was not to be denied though and headed home from Stieber's subsequent corner.

The lively Gardner almost doubled his and Villa's tally on 33, but saw a well struck drive deflected behind for a corner.

Taylor did well to parry Seol's drive on 36, reacting quickly after being unsighted by a defender

McDermott Out.

Moore was denied by Andersen on 46 and Angel fired just wide seconds later as Villa made a bright start to the second-half.

Taylor did well to deny Oster on 51 and recovered quickly to block Doyle follow up. Doyle fired over the bar from the edge of the box on 54.

De la Cruz was denied by former team mate Taylor on 56 as he cut in from the left and unleashed a rising drive.

Seol's left-foot drive was deflected over the bar on 66 as Reading looked to reduce the arrears.

Herd blocked Long's low drive as the visitors enjoyed their best spell of the game.Long then fired over the bar as he met Bikeys through ball.

Moore was denied by Bikey on 74 as he met Angel's flick after good work from Herd and Hogg in midfield.

Long fired over the bar from the edge of the box on 81 as he met a Church flick.

NOTE: Church on for Doyle (62);Robson-Kanu on for Bozniac (62) Hately on for Oyster (76)

3 nil villa.......... O'Halloran added Villa's third on 84, meeting Stieber's corner from the left with a well directed header.

Is the title chase likely to go down to the final home game or will it be all over by then?

Gardner's pretty decent from what I can remember seeing of him for Villa. Might be worth a look if available/cheap/loanable.

We lost the other night to West Ham and have Chelsea next so I guess its us out of it.

Gibbsy (Nigel) won the title with us a few seasons back so its good to see him going well with you Reserves as well.
