When Saturday Comes

by 1960 » 02 Apr 2007 17:41

May edition. In the shops this week.

A three-page article (including pictures) from our old friend Roger Titford about the Portsmouth game and our history with Pompey.

On the contents page a view of the Madstad with Kingsley foreground.

An honourable mention for HobNob on the web review page.

WSC does not do article links on the web, so you'll have to buy or borrow a copy.

Quality stuff, WSC is much better than Four Four Two. Actually talks about genuine fans issues, and Four Four Two went seriously downhill after Brian Clough died.

I've got it. It's a good article - well worth a couple of quid.

Mine's not arrived yet.

Is there anything about the FSF ticket price campaign in it?

Quite right too. Agree with what my venerable old chum Wax Jacket says about WSC that at times it focuses too much on the financial side of the game (I have Nick Leeson's head for figures) but it's always a smashing read with some real thought provoking articles. Our national game is blighted by some truly pathetic, lazy journalism reliant on hackneyed old cliche's and the old boys network (hello Oliver Holt). WSC tends to buck that trend, looking forward already to reading Roger's article.

My old man features in the photo of the hotel bar pre-game. And I would have too if I hadn't chosen that very minute to get the pies in!

Yes, there is an article. I didn't spot it on first flick through. Jon Keen is quoted extensively. I take it that this is our Jon Keen?
