Slough - Mumbai?
Boro - hideous
Southampton - a fleapit
London - smogville populated by a-holes
Swindon - a souless dump
Bristol - a dump
Bath - not as nice as you might think
Manchester - full of mancs
Liverpool - full of scousers
Birmingham - a dump
West Brom - Mumbai's sister town?
Bradford - Little India?
Oldham - biyrani anyone? A sesspit
Portsmouth
Hull
Stockport
Sheffield
Leicester
Nottingham
Mansfield
most northern towns....however, i guess newcastle is good for bird watching

Lancaster is a nice place and a nice place to live. Close to the Lakes and the sea. Picturesque, historic yet modern. Also full of freindly Northerners that aren't close minded idiots like you.

When you've visited "most Northern towns" you might change your opinion.

Now Villa look to nab Bellamy

By MARK IRWIN
January 10, 2007

ASTON VILLA are ready to bid for Craig Bellamy after having a £5million offer for striker Kevin Doyle rejected by Reading.

Villa boss Martin O’Neill had put 10-goal Doyle, 23, top of his January wanted list but the Republic of Ireland star signed a new three-and-a-half year contract only last week and Royals boss Steve Coppell insists he is staying.

Only Didier Drogba and Cristiano Ronaldo have scored more Premiership goals than Doyle this season.

O’Neill is determined to land a reliable goalscorer after running out of patience with Milan Baros and Juan Pablo Angel.

He is aware Bellamy could be made available for sale by Liverpool just five months after his £6m move from Newcastle.

But Reds boss Rafa Benitez will not part with Bellamy until he has signed a replacement striker.

That is such a non story; no quotes whatsoever let alone official quotes; basically ANY football fan could have written that from their knowledge of the game and a bit of educated guesswork.

Try it, its fun!

ROEDER LOOKING TO TAKE SIDWELL

Glen Roeder has stepped up his search for a replacement for want away midfield dynamo Emre, after the Turkish International refused to sign an extension to his contract, and his prime target is Readings' Steve Sidwell.

Sidwell, 24, an outstanding member of Readings all conquering Championship winners continues to take the Premier League by storm and has not signed a new contract at the Madjeski, alerting a number of clubs.

Sources close to Newcastle say that Roeder has been impressed by the combative ex Arsenal trainee, and feel he would give the Magpies midfield extra bite in the event of Emre's departure, and is preparing a bid of around £4m for his services in January.

See? Total bollocks but with enough truth in it to make it sound plausible.

Are you trying to start one of your spurious rumours again (as discussed on the way to Wiggun)?

Hopefully this should be the last word on speculation over Doyle

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/07/01/13/SOCCER_Reading_Doyle.html&TEAMHD=soccer

Reading striker Kevin Doyle has warned any interested clubs he is not yet ready to leave the Madejski Stadium.

The 23-year-old has been a huge success in his - and the Royals' - debut season in the Barclays Premiership.

So far he has 10 goals to his name, a tally which helped the Royals finish 2006 in the top half of the table.

The Republic of Ireland international, who is looking to add to that at Everton on Sunday, has been linked with a £5million move to Aston Villa.

Manager Steve Coppell has made it clear he regards such speculation as irksome, especially as the player has just signed a new contract tying him to the club until 2010.

And Doyle was determined not to let it affect a career he admits is still in the development stages.

He said: "With things like that even if you start thinking about it you get ahead of yourself. I'm not ready for it.

"People who have been watching me probably think I can do better and I do too.

"I have been in the Premiership six months and I have a lot more to learn. I have only been in England for 18 months so I can't think about anything like that.

"It is different for players who have been brought up in England and come through when they are 14 or 15. I haven't done that so I have a lot more to learn before I can contemplate anything like that.

"I am at a good club where we are doing well and have a great manager who has looked after me. I love it here so at the moment I am not interested."

Reading will be aiming to avenge last month's 2-0 defeat by the Toffees at the Madejski Stadium, when Andrew Johnson caused them all sorts of problems.

The England man scored one and set up the other and Doyle admitted he was a player he admired.

He said: "He is someone I look up to. He came up from the Championship and did very well, went back down, came back up again and did well in the Premiership. It is not as though it was a one-season thing.

"When you do well in your first season people always wonder whether you will be a one-season wonder but he certainly isn't that, he's proved that.

"Any player would want to emulate that and although I have a long way to go to do that he is a player I look at to give me confidence."
