Kevin Doyle

by Petercccccc » 08 Jan 2007 13:23

Kevin Doyle reckons Reading fans and the Premiership have not seen the best of him yet after the striker pledged his future to the club by signing a bumper new long-term deal.

The former Cork City man was already under contract until July 2008 having only penned an improved deal last year.

But the Republic of Ireland international has emerged as one of the hottest strikers in the Premiership and has been rewarded for his excellent form by signing a deal which runs out at the end of the 2009/10 season.

Fellow Irishman Stephen Hunt has also been recognised.

The midfielder penned a deal which runs until the end of the 2008/09 season.

Doyle has bagged 10 Premiership goals already this season and was rumoured to be a potential target for a host of top-flight giants.

But the 23-year-old told the Evening Post: “Hopefully the best years are ahead of me. I am developing all the time.

“There is still plenty to learn, but I have the right manager to teach me and hopefully I can do even better.

“I am very happy at Reading, so what is the point of going anywhere else? This is the place to be. We have a great manager, a great chairman, great players, a stadium that can get bigger, a good training ground and a great town.

“I think it’s one of the nicer places to live in England.

“The fans have been really good to me and I feel at home.

“I am more than happy where I am. There’s no need to go anywhere. I don’t want to unsettle myself by moving. That can upset your game.

“I am playing well and the club have rewarded me.â€

He doesn't live where I was brought up down the Oxford Road, that's not too nice.

His wage could take him a bit further away than that.

I used to live in Cemetry Junction. Vibrant and lively. Apart from the occasional shooting, that is.

if you list all the places to live in the uk
including places like hull, grimsby, brum at the bottom, and london, at the top, then surely we must be top half material

Reading is definitely a nice place to live... I mean it's a bit dull and the town has no where decent to go on a night out... and most of West Reading is quite scarey... but I assume he lives in one of the posh bits, so really yes, it is a very nice place to live...

West Reading is not scary.

I now live in Hackney and when I come back, West Reading is sooooooo relaxed in comparison.
