Avoiding the Double

by Blue Blood » 29 Dec 2006 08:11

I have long said that if you can avoid any team doing the 'double' over you in the league then you should be looking at a top six position (unless you draw an awful lot of games).
We have now played each team at least once so can look at those who could still do the double over us:

Aston Villa
Wigan
Arsenal
Portsmouth
Liverpool
Newcastle
Blackburn
Everton

Blackburn and Everton away will be tough I think but no reason we cannot get at least a draw. All the others are home games where again some kind of result should be in order. That leaves Arsenal at the Emirates. A result there and I think we could be looking at the incredible achievement of avoiding any team doing the double over us first season in Premiership!
