Chuks Aneke

by Webster750 » 03 Aug 2025 00:01

Heard tonight we’re in talks to bring Chuks Aneke in. Goal scoring record has been abysmal of late but L1 experience + size can’t be a bad thing with how physically weak the side currently is.

Weird recent career. Seems to have been a specialist sub, barely started a game

I mean he’d be cheap and experienced and clearly happy to be back up

Those are the words that make me think there may be something in this. We are clearly going with O'Mahony up top so we need an experienced back up who will be happy with that role. Aneke fits that.

I wouldn’t be against it as long as he is in decent shape still

May, of course, be past it, but his goals per minute in League One is just over 1 in 210

Last 85 games, 10 goals, 9 assists don't think it's what we're after, no resale value either for a punt like this

If it were to come about and it is just a one year deal, then no major issue with regards to it being a punt or the lack of resale. Also experience of being in a promotion winning squad last season.

Would not be my first, second or third choice but if he is going to be content with a role off the bench he could give us something a little different.

Can't be the only striker to join though.
