Rumour - Efe Ambrose

by royalp-we » 25 Aug 2016 07:39

Stam is rumoured to want to bring Ambrose in on a cut price deal. Sees him as a holding midfielder.

Ambrose best known for recent defensive fcuk ups. I've only seen him once when he bossed the midfield for Celtic against Ross county, Celtic won 6-0 that day (Hooper x 6!). But I'm sure there's people out there who have seen him in some more testing fixtures ie CL football!

Wouldn't mind him sat in the Lwood role tbh.

If true, could we be seeing someone leave? Or is Stam simply filling out the squad?

Can't see anyone who you might think of as a 'defensive midfielder' leaving as we've only just signed them !

Anything that is prefaced by 'is rumours to' has to be treated with huge caution. One person tweeting or posting on a board is not conclusive ....

Ambrose still has a year left on his Celtic contract but is unlikely to win another reprieve, having been prone to blunders throughout his Hoops career

Excellent.

Swap deal with Cooper Blooper?

He's Celtic's Cooper. I don't understand this if it's true.

Utility player. Noticeable with the signings that we've made this year that the majority are multi positional. Makes for a very flexible formation and style of play.

How many midfielders do we need? Really don't want or need any more and this guy hardly sounds like he improves the quality we already have in that area.

As he is usually a centre back/right back it's more logical to presume that he would primarily be cover in those areas.

Daily Express is now carrying the story, as is the EP

Poor man's Bongani Khumalo.

Predominently a CB (rather than DM), but can play RB or DM.

Started well at Celtic, played the night they beat Barca. But then he was brought straight in off the plane after the AFCON against Juventus, had a poor game and seemingly went to shit - prone to a lot of mistakes. Full of effort.

Could it be that it's a mental thing and the move might actually be what's needed?

He's a centre back / RIGHT BACK. Maybe cover for Gunter or could be Gunts is off?

Is our manager trying to build a team of centre-backs?
Could this be the new Sonko? (error-prone but enthusiastic)
Am looking forward to the big striker coming in to make us one of the biggest sides around after having a back four of:-
Ambrose Moore, Cooper, Blackett
plus VDB in midfield.
We might not score many goals but at least we might become harder to beat.

Surely you mean the new Bikey .... Sonko wasn't that error prone, he just lost his pace after his knee injury.

He was in his first season but developed into a fine CB until the knee injury fcuked it all for him and he started hanging around with dickheads like Emerse Fae

I think you'll find Tennai Watson is Gunter's cover/competition, and he's more than good enough to take the shirt off his back too.

"shirt off his back"?-careful, bearing in mind who's shirt would be lifted.

So, about those Efe Embrose links.

From what I understand today’s reports are completely wrong.

In fact someone has described them to me as ‘a joke’ and ‘not true’.

So there you have it. It doesn’t look like we should be expected Efe to turn up at the Mad Stad any time soon.

Given some if his ridiculous attempts at shooting the other night I think Gravenberch is the new Bikey.
