Michael Hector?

by TBM » 12 Aug 2016 15:28

Unless i've missed the news, Michael Hector is still a Chelsea "player"....

If we miss out on Moore, why don't we go for a season long loan of Hector (again). He can play centre half and is comfortable with the ball at his feet, plus he knows the club.

No thank you.

What good is moving the club forward in a new direction if we just go backwards and get old players.

Plus he was a fukking liability.

He's one of 3 fit centre backs at Chelsea.
More chance of them asking to borrow Cooper I would have thought.....

I really rate him but coming back here isn't a step forward for either side.

He needs to make a go of it at Chelsea, and he may be in and around the squad with their defensive troubles at the moment. If you're one of three it's reasonable to expect to be on the bench and he's got a lot of games under his belt. It's not like he's 17 or 18, either.

Was thinking about Karacan earlier, and whether he might be worth trying to get back, since I can't see him having a career at Galatasaray. Or Mariappa.

However, same as with Hector, I think I'd rather see us going with fresh blood.

You mean the second half of the season where we won 5 league games and conceded 30 goals?

Some reports in Turkey say he's been released but nothing overly official has been announced.

He's another one I rate who's bee so unlucky with injuries, and at such a crucial time of his career. Without those I think he would be playing in the Prem now or even for Gala more often.

I'd love to have a player similar to what he gave us when Adkins came in, when he was getting around the pitch with his energy and winning tackles, but also using the ball really well. Again, though, I don't think he should come back.

Yep

Remember our goal keeper won the player of the season - so your reasoning is slightly flawed

He's desperate to come back to England. Finding it really tough being out there.

Yes, and how many absolute howlers did he let in? My reasoning is that him being a standout performer (if you can call him that) in the team that performed as badly as it did last season doesn't make you good. Same with Norwood.

You can be the best turd in the toilet but ultimately you're still shit.

Yeah i guess - suppose that's why he's joined one of the countries best teams, and was wanted by other Premier League sides....

Still i trust your judgment on players, over those who actually know

He looked class the few games before he left us, following injury. Like he was at his best yet. Would fit in well with Swift and Evans, I think.

That's such a cheap comment. "Oh every signing is good because the people that make the decisions know more than you do". What a load of bollocks.

I'd suggest it doesn't take a footballing expert to know that Marcus Williams was shite, but someone somewhere who "knows more than me" thought otherwise. :|

Yeah. Lets face it, he's not going to make Chelsea's first team unless they're happy with slipping down the table, so it's not even unrealistic that we could end up with him back permanently in a season or two.

Hector >> Cooper and less of a risk than going to a back up solution if Moore doesn't happen.

Plus you can't really argue Hector's a short-term backwards step to loan when it looks increasingly like Moore would be a loan if we can get it done at all.
