RUMOUR: Erik Huseklepp

by Reading4eva » 26 Jun 2012 16:03

From the same source as before. Supposably viewing a free move to ourselves from Portsmouth. Due to the contract regulations being breached by the club, the player has the right to walk away on a free, which seems to be something he is intending on doing.

Decent player. Just needs a club where he can stabilize his career.

Would he be Premier League quality though?

Completely underwhelmed...right now we need premier league quality players and not players who might be premier league quality in 2-3 years.

I'd prefer we kept Antonio and gave him a shot instead (based on what he did down the stretch at Wednesday last season).

Why not? Huseklepp? Antonio? 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, as far as I am concerned when it comes to our competitiveness in the 2012-2013 premier league.

Libertine I'd prefer we kept Antonio, he was hot a pistol down the stretch last term and his goal conversion against the Wycombe Chairboys was sick

Ok...whatever.

I am sure this will be the signing which sends this board into meltdown...if we can complete it.

Not sure about this. Cannot see he is much better than we have already and more likely to be Championship level than PL. I very much doubt he would be a target unless Anton also has a cloth to cut.

Huseklepp did ok at Pompey (championship and dire straits). Antonio did well at Wednesday (league one) and badly at Reading (championship). Also Huseklepp is a striker as far as I am aware. Antonio is not.

Not that I think he's significantly better than Hunt, Roberts, ALF.
