USA_Loyal_Royal Thats promising! Medicals are typically done last right? After wages and fees are agreed.

Common misconception.

These days medicals are actually done first, even before an enquiry to make sure the player is worth enquiring about.

Not sure if serious.

Of course it's serious. Would you bother enquiring about a player with a dodgy hamstring?

Ref. to Leroy Fer's Everton move. The medical oxf*rd the deal over, after fee agreed.

I would have thought so. Ince being down means were talking terms and what we can offer the lad, so it's all positive for now.

Until the whole "My son ain't a god damn whore you bastards!", followed by Papa Ince being shot by the russian mafia.

Ince is just making sure that Brian calls him "the guvnor". No "guvnor", no deal.

Ian Royal I don't understand why Brian confirming our interest means it's his fault if stupid people get angry about us not managing to sign him.

Maybe its a smoke screen to make fans believe we were trying to sign a 8 mill man and when in fact we weren't even interested in him and happy with are 4 signings

Hope im wrong though :D

No. Docs aren't sent up. Players have to come down to the club.

So the player comes to us and has a full medical and then we enquire to the players club about them? Are you sure that's how it works?

Yup. They have to pay the doctors' fees too as they're not getting a free medical out of it.

@Tony_The_Red
Paul Ince has met with Reading FC officials so it seems we have passed at £8m for Ince which RFC are prepared to pay. We'll get £2.8m #LFC

Jesus! Medicals can take place at ANY time during a deal, but the selling club needs to grant permission for the buyers to do so, the same with personal teams. You can often hear a club has "granted permission" for prospective buyers to meet with a player to discuss a deal before agreeing a fee. Its often if deals are not far off (a few £100k etc) being agreed between clubs then the sellers know eventually they will allow him to go.

Especially so close to a deadline it is not unheard of for a player like Ince to have agreed a deal, done photos, had a medical etc and then travel back up to Blackpool, in our hotel or anywhere and wait like the rest of us to see if a deal can be agreed between clubs - but obviously his club would need to have allowed him to do so prior to the agreement of fees.

As nobody has been spotted walking into the hotel with a black leather case wearing a stethoscope I think we can discount the medical theory.

I've heard that Tom Ince wears a monocle when he takes a bath.
