There are rumours that it is Bednar and he might well be surplus at WBA - so it would be a good call as we might be able to make it permanent. He is 6 foot 3 so has height and presence to change a game which we don't have at the moment.

Bednar would be a good addition to the squad IMO.

I still think we need a central midfielder first

Howard, Tabb, Karacan, Gunnarsson, Davies, Taylor, McAnuff and Church can do stints in the middle too - I don't think we need another centre mid

You could say that about every position though

We dont need a striker

Long
Hunt
Church
Robson-Kanu
Antonio
Kebe

Can all do stints up top.....

I just feel we need someone to sit infront of the back 4.

So can I. The point is, with the exception of Tabb and Karacan those players just aren't good enough in central midfield.

Howard and Karacan CAN'T play that holding role
Tabb can as can Gunner but i still feel we need another in there as Tabb looked better playing further forward

Hasn't Karacan been playing the more defensive role fairly well for us all season?

We need a DOMINANT, rules the way we play midfielder.

All our guys CAN win tackles, CAN make passes, but none has ever controlled a game

Fabregas is unhappy at Arsenal, maybe....

:| errrr not really, no.

Karacan is not a holding midfielder - he is far more effective playing that middle role.....someone to win the ball, give it to Jem, he then gives to the man next up (the old Sig role).

In Ian Royal's defence Jem Karacan has been playing mostly in the holding role and has flourished there. If anything his all round game has improved with the added responsibility.

Jonny Fordham's Twitter said recently that only one of Bednar or Miller will leave WBA on loan and if Leicester are the club that get one of them then that probably means Fryatt will come here. That rumour wont go away.

I know you are probably being sarcastic there, but why would Hull signing a striker allow them to release a midfielder?

I agree with TBM on the role Karacan's been playing. We haven't really been playing with a holding midfielder as such, not one who just sits and protects the back four as, for example, Rodgers had Jem do on a few occassions. Karacan is more 'all-action' than that and none of our midfielders are really suited to it.

Gunnarsson can't even play any more, let alone be the midfield general who can run a game that I think TBM is rightly saying we need. When was the last time Gunnarsson managed 90 minutes? He and Ingimarrson are, unfortunately, on their last legs.

As for the forward. We do need one, and Bednar or Miller would do just fine. I'd love it to be Roberts as I think he'd be the better fit for our needs (he's got a lot of experience, is a good character by all accounts, and would really lead the line with a bit more consistency).

Except that he wasn't consistently good enough and the transfer fee from Agent Coppell was too good to turn down.

“But if it doesn’t happen we’re okay and we’ll go with what we’ve got.”
