Huntley & Palmer

Huntley & Palmer LOL @ most people on this thread when he signs in the next 48 hours

Not really. Old John knows the supports are turning volatile towards him, not the team, and not the manager. He really has very little choice but to show the fans their 'wrong' and get them back onside.

LOL @ a few people on an internet message board turning 'volatile'. People are far too impatient after the most successful period in this club's history, it's farcical really

+ 2

There has been some cr@p written on this board down the year's but some of the utter sh*te we've witnessed since Saturday just beggars belief.

So, having spent £2m on a centre half when a five a year old could have come up with a reasonable excuse for spending a fraction of that amount on a cheaper alternative, our supposedly tight fisted, multi millionaire chairman is now trying to pay Watford way over the odds for a 29 year old forward.

And why is he doing this.............................because he's being intimidated by a bunch of idiots from the south east corner :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

That's football fans though, innit.

I've seen worse viz:
After Man U lost to Burnley t'other night there was no lack of 'supporters' on their boards calling for Ferguson's head, the words 'senile drunk' appeared a few times.
Anyone else remember hearing Blackburn fans spitting vitriol about how, already terminally ill, Jack Walker was ruining their club after they were relegated in the late '90s?
Prize one for me was probably Southampton fans hounding McMenemy out of his job for only finishing 5th in the top flight in '85. I wonder what they'd give to be back where he led them now?

If this goes through this will be a total spend of £3.8 million so far plus whatever loan fee we played for the Chelsea rent boy. That's a lot more than we ever spent prior to going up .... remember when £1million for LL seemed a lot of money!

And we're still not near to having a side ready to push for promotion IMO

Madejski's been played like a mug by Watford on this one

Mr Mad said earlier on Radio Berks that a statement is going to be issued stating "where the money has gone" - he also said it wasn't his idea to name the stadium after him.

It'll be yet more pro-Madejski propaganda no doubt although the angle of spin will be very interesting.

I think this is possibly the first time in a few years that Madejski has been taken out of his comfort zone

I'm struggling to remember the £12million + of sales made before Lita was signed.

It will definitely be more spin - as I said the other day, a lot of Reading fans won't be easily appeased now- it's the third season in a row where our activity in the transfer market appears to be slower than a slow thing on a slow day.

Because he isn't a striker.

Last season was the best season in his career to date in terms of goals.

Even if they get Smith, Reading still need a proper centre forward.

So at last this interminable never ending tale seems to be coming to an end and TS will be in the side to face Barnsley on Saturday.

Thank god for that.

PS - Who'll be the first to start slagging him off - most probably after the Barnsley game on Saturday?
