The Goalkeeper thread

by TheBaldOne » 04 Jan 2016 14:58

So, it seems pretty obvious McDermott is going to get his own man in between the sticks and one point or another. The question is though, who is available and realistic? Post your suggestions below. I'd like to see someone who actually knows how to kick the ball, the return of Federici? Pauolo Gazzaniga? Paul Robinson? Jaaskelanien until the end of the season?

I'd rather see us go for someone like David Bentley, a younger keeper with a bit of experience. the kind of the player we all hoped Bond might be and could probably still develop into given the right support.

He retired a couple of seasons back, but I doubt he'd do much of a job in the sticks as he was an attacking midfielder.

Southend United's Daniel Bentley on the other hand...

So, where is the evidence that he is going to get his own man? Or is it just some of the fans who view it that way?

No more loans .... or rather we don't want anymore loans. So no.

I think we have to persevere this season with what we have this season. I don't think Bond or Al Habsi are that bad and Federici made a fair few howlers. Our main problem this season is not so much goals conceded but more the lack of goals up front.

The last time we had a problem like this behind the sticks, we signed Phil Whitehead. He was a top top signing at the time. He gave the defenece instant reassurance. Someone like that please. A bit of experience and a safe pair of hands!
