Elm Park Pasty Just off Twitter, he's gone to Margate......

http://www.margate-fc.co.uk/news/blues-snap-up-bognor-captain-kane-wills-1222982.html

Maybe it was the blue and white hoops that confused them.

Cue screams that we can't even compete with Non-League clubs now.

BOOO.

Anton out.

Can we actually shout 'Anton Out!!' if we're not even sure he's in?

maffff Would you settle for a Dave Kitson?

Yes, I'd be quite happy to get in a proven lower league goalscorer.

What about Kevin Phillips? Baldock Town to Watford.

I'm not sure there'll be another Ian Wright / Kevin Phillips now. Both moved up younger than this guy, who's gone somewhere else much lower than us anyway.

Jamie Vardy entered the football league at 25.
He'll be in the Prem next year at 27

Basically you're talking rubbish Ian.

Well, he still needs to actually play regularly for more than a season to come close to matching those two. And really to get capped by England. But that's blinkin' impressive. I stand partially corrected.

Not that it means my concerns about this chap weren't well based.

He was a class above Blue Sq. Prem before, and in his league at Halifax, and in his league at Stocksbridge. Was a bit of a mystery why no one took a punt on him before.

Vardy was signed by Fleetwood as a midfielder from Halifax initially for £150k when they were embarking upon their second season in the Blue Square Prem. At that level that's a MASSIVE fee where most players move around on free transfers, he probably cost as much as most of the rest of the division put together. Vardy was as Sheff Wed lad they released at 16.

Doesn't always work out though, like Ross Hannah from Matlock was impressing just as much as Vardy pre-Fleetwood, and that didn't work out.

At the risk of sounding like a WUM - this lad (and probably a select few other non-league / league 2 CBs) won't be an order of magnitude worse than the likes of morrison or pearce.

For the CB position especially, I think people overstate the gap between tiers. It's probably the least 'technical' position on the field, and if you're a big strong lad who is decent in the air, with a bit of positional coaching, they wouldn't be a total embarrassment imho. It's probably one of the positions you could look to provide squad depth with lower-league players at less risk.

Thats one reason why CBs with 'something extra' like the ability to actually pass the ball, or exceptionally quick - get snapped up by top end chap and prem sides.

Maybe this is just the clubs way of P***ing BAFC off by letting them know we have spies in their manor..!! 8)

Have Bognorrrrr improved since we played them in the FA Cup???

Give the lad a chance I say - bring them all in, open the gates, trial away............Actually maybe our trial criteria should include a financial review... i.e little Johnny who plays LB for Middle Wallop reserves might be totally crap........ but........... (there's always a but!!) ...his dad is a billionaire / very wealthy guy!! result of trial................... Sign him up.....!! ----> "hey dad of Johnny... lets have a chat...."!!

cunning plan???

or desperate??

I think there's a rather large gap in quality between the likes of John Mackie, Adrian Viveash, Barry Hunter, Gareth Davies, Elroy Kromheer and the likes of Pearce and Morrison.
