Rumour - Dave Kitson

by Upper West Ginger » 20 Aug 2011 10:34

On the Sky Football League preview yesterday (which had a feature with Nicky Forster interviewing Brian, Noel and Jobi at Hogwood) they showed a clip of Kitson's goal against us then said that Kitson had been linked with a return to Reading. Anybody got any more news / views on this?

whilst i agree his second spell wasn't fruitful, i would rather bring kitson back than say take a gamble on a lower league striker. a fit david kitson is better than manset who at the moment can't manage 90 minutes, church and williams. so on that basis it would be a yes from me.

Still better than any of our strikers. Last time he came back we weren't creating a thing

Won't happen.

think we could definitely do with having him back. adds some experience and a good track record to our fairly weak strike force

cant see it happening though. would require a decent fee and probably quite high wages which the club seems unable to meet

Manset > Hunt > Church > HRK up front

As an individual footballer: HRK > Manset > Hunt > Church

HRK is a WINGER

I actually think HRK could turn out to be a very effective player in attack. Admittedly he is a very different player to Shane long but he is strong and skilful and already had two goals in one start and a couple of sub appearances in attack. Will score 23 at that rate this season!

Well you evidently weren't there last sat then mate! As he was a LOT more effective on the wing. He's good at assisting, cutting in and shooting. We don't want a striker to flap about with the ball on the edge of the box like he was doing when he was up front

Agree with Kebe-I just don't think he is flexible enough in his movement especially when the ball is on his right side and he is rather easily crowded out when playing in the middle.
I really don't think he will be able to change his game enough to playing anywhere other than out wide where he has more time and there is normally only the one defender.

I was there thanks and thought he was our best player by a long way. Most posters in the "back from the game thread" also gave him MOTM so it was not just me. Certainly worth a few more chances up front.

I would take him back, I agree with a previous post which said we didn't create much last time kitson was here. I would like to see him upfront with HRK playing just off.
