Sanguine Still a chance Haaland just goes to Bayern.

would be one of the most disappointing transfers ever

Was reading something last week about how much he could cost to sign with outrageous demands from Riola. With Mbappe almost certainly on his way to Real Madrid I wouldn't mind Haaland going there to join him tbh.

Not sure this has so far been the transfer window that 'the Geordie nation' were dreaming of

Winston Biscuit Sounds like Vlahovic way be on his way to Juve for around €65M

Pfff. Can't these players get an imagination?

Everything I hear about Vlahovic sounds exciting, and I hope he is a huge success there. When I hear journos hype him up though I can't help keep thinking of Jovic & Piatek's transfers.

He does look like a cracking player, a Haaland/Shearer type who is physical as well as having an eye for goal. I just wish players would take a risk or two with transfers (and repeat my usual moan football's romance being dead).

Noticed Allegri has slowly turned the tank around at Juventus. Just one defeat in 12, and a point outside the Champions League spots.

Haha. I love that he was "32" when he signed for us. He could barely walk.

What happened to the 17yo that Lazio signed a few years back?

Good digging! Now playing in Serie D. Similar career trajectory to Freddy Adu, who also had a questionable age.

I'm pretty sure there was a lad playing French youth football claiming to be 12. He was about 6'2 and there were videos of him doing the rounds just knocking small children out of the way and scoring a goal. Hate to generalise but it does seem to be pretty much an African thing. The forging of documents for talented players in that region is well documented, feel sad for the players in question tbh. Not their fault their parents are money grabbing bastards.

Yup. Porto have just released Mbemba because he's older than he claimed https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/f ... e-22854044

There was also a high profile case a couple of years ago where an African player basically came out and said he was being forced to lie about his age.

Find it really sad. They would have been put through the youth systems playing years below their actual age, getting it in their head they are the best thing around then come crashing back down to earth when playing adult football.

The biggest apparent curiosity re Adu's age is that his listed height hasn't increased since he was '13'.

There was a Nigeria under 21/18 team in a tournament years ago where half of them were clearly over age. Was ridiculous but quite understandable when you read their stories of just wanting to land one reasonable contract in Europe and their families lives are changed forever

Just read something I didn't know - Freddy Adu's Mum literally won a lottery, the US (at the point, don't know if they do now) literally held a green card lottery for the sake of cultural diversification, and Freddy's family (from Ghana) won it. And the rest is history.

I dunno, in Jnr II's match at the week one of the other team was about 6'2 and he was doing much the same.
