West Ham are to take legal action after failing in their appeal to overturn the red card shown to Andy Carroll during the 1 February win against Swansea.

Perhaps they should also ask why Flores wasn't even booked. They prolly won't get anywhere with the appeal but surely Flores should be disciplined for his shameful exaggeration.

Without Carroll the 'Ammers are certainly less of a threat which is obviously why they're appealing so determinedly given his forthcoming 3 game absence.

Presumably when they fail (as they should) they will wonder if the additional ban for Carroll was worth it.

There really are no grounds for west ha to pursue this and if they do get away with it it has the potential to absolutely kill the game. The referee has an impossible job already, being constantly undermined by managers and players who seem to have little idea of the laws of the game they play and no concept of sportsmanship.

People forget that football is refereed according to the opinion of the officials,by definition people will often disagree with those opinions but almost all the time that disagreement is because they have a biased view. West Hamm seem to be appealing the red card on the basis that they think Andy Carroll will be their saviour, which is not a good enough reason.

Is this the. First time a relegation threatened Hammers have resorted to underhand means to try and do what they cannot do legitimately ?

Desperation. I can't imagine it would send a gr8 message to the rest of squad either.

If they win it will set a dangerous precedent, so I can't see anything other than them getting laughed out of the door.

Agree it's not a good message and sets a bad precedent but it's an awful decision to send him off and an even worse one to not over turn it on review.

Whilst I agree that Flores over-reacted (massively) it is obvious that Carroll's eyes were on Flores as he swung his arm back deliberately.
Red was right - Flores needs a 'seeing to'

I think he's trying to shake him off yes, so he knows where he is and he's turning his body round that way to move him. To my mind it's not violent conduct though and so it's not a red card.

West Ham have agreed the sale of Upton Park to a property developer once they move into the Olympic Stadium; I wonder how much of the £Millions the club (or more likely messes Gold, Sullivan and Ms Brady) will get for the ground will be given to the Government in recompense for being given the tax payer funded Olympic Stadium for practically nothing?

If (& a big if, given Carroll's injury record) they can get Sakho & Carroll to form a decent partnership, I could see them sustaining their healthy start and securing European football this year. Particularly when you throw Valencia into the mix, who I thought had a solid World Cup.

Allardyce OUT, I think was the request of West Ham fans until not too long ago? LOL

Song's return made a hell of an impact too - he's one of the signings of the season.

Pretty depressing that the two teams we got promoted with, and beat to the title, are now 3rd and 4th in the Prem. Fair fcuks to them.

Hopefully, some good will come of it - Our new board may look at them as examples to follow, once we get on an even keel.
