genome VAR has just replaced a bunch of bad decisions with a separate bunch of bad decisions. Pointless. Get rid of it

It should never have been introduced

It isn’t equipped for a sport like football. At the very least though, if you’re going to use it, it has to be used via a consistent basis getting decisions right. To get it wrong time and time again makes a complete mockery of the system

Will also add this play acting from so called “professionals” is beyond a joke. Look at Mendy today, its just encouraging all the wrong habits by letting them get away with it, no wonder it’s becoming worse and worse each season

There can be no doubt that VAR has resulted in more correct decisions overall but my oh my they do make some stinking decisions along the way.

I just don’t understand how the refs on the pitch are so easily swayed by the tossers in the shed referring them to the screen.

Good to see Oliver stand by his own decision in the Forest game.

What a dreadful blunder by the officials in the City v Villa game.
It doesn't help Gerrard and Villa much that the officials apologised afterwards for wrongly giving an offside , cancelling Coutinho's "goal" which would have put Villa 2-1 up deep into the second half.

Apparently because the ref blew his whistle as the ball was heading for goal meant that the offside could not be considered by VAR.
So be it.

They've had yet another bad weekend
Someone needs to suggests VARAR, an assistant referee to the video assistant referee

Man City defence gave up trying to stop Coutinho shooting once they heard the whistle.

I’m not at all convinced they could have done anything to stop it even if that weren’t the case

Agreed, and they are brilliant at throwing themselves in the way to block shots - plus although it was a brilliant strike (in off the bar) Ederson didn’t make a proper effort to save it.

Still a bit shit though.

Didn't have to do much as Arsenal's frontline couldn't hit a barn door at time. Saka and Odegard should have done better. There were times Arsenal were trying to pass it in the net.
Trying to be Man City is why they will get caught out a lot this season.
