That really is a horrible picture. Feel really uneasy looking at it.

John Terry will stand trial on July 9th, so he will be England captain for the Euro's.

I'd be surprised if Capello selects him; there will be a LOT of pressure on him not to.

Innocent until proven guilty. If he's found guilty, the FA should then take the appropriate action.

Not disagreeing with you on the principle Kes, just saying that there will be a lot of pressure, including political, not to select JT for the Euros.

After the Euros he will retire from Internationals anyway.

What legal reason was given to delaying this trial? You can be certain that the bloke arrested at Anfield on Saturday won't be waiting 9 months for his day in court

Seems far too convenient doesn't it!

Am I right in thinking that Woodgate was banned from playing for England whilst awaiting trial or was that just once he was found guilty?

I don't know for sure but I'm convinced there's a precedent of players awaiting trial being ineligible for England consideration, not least here because Terry has a possible FA charge also hanging over his head once the criminal case has run its course

You are correct. Woodgate and Bowyer were both banned from selection until the trial was concluded.

But I don't think Gerrard was. Perhaps the criteria is how important they are to the England team.

In which case, why did Gerrard and possibly Terry escape bans?

Gerrard and Terry have been as useful to England as a copy of Playboy was to Gary Speed.

The judge wanted it to be heard in March; Terry's counsel said that the main defence witnesses - the Chelsea players - couldn't possibly attend court as they were far too busy playing football, so the judge adjourned until July.

When they're all in Agia Napa nailing slappers?

Anyway, I see the tactic here now, come July the whole country will so hate Terry and his england team-mates his lawyer will be able to complain that he couldn't get a fair trial

Equally, we might have a football-fanatic Judge who would preside over a Kangaroo court, Flanders Pigeon Murderer style.

I'd like that

"The maximum penalty is a £2500 fine but, given your inability to trap a bag of cement the other day v Ukraine i have used my discretion to sentence you to death by hanging"

Good god. Does that mean we have to listen to more the partial commentator propaganda like:

“…another uncharacteristic mistake there by Terry!”

How the fck can it be uncharacteristic if it’s another, dickwit?

If Capello was interested in football and not FA handshakes, he’d plant a clan hat in Terry’s locker.
