I don't really care in all honesty. I don't anticipate we'll be up there. I'm quite happy with the idea we will be a midtable team flirting with the playoffs.

I'll revise my excitment levels when the new manager is announced later this week... (it has to be doesn't it?)

no, but there is a "bloody ought to be" about it.

by the way, checking the odds, Burnley to win the premiership - 10000-1

A manager appointed within a month of Coppell resigning would be me my reasonable desire. As long as we have one by mid June we'll be fine.

Rushing it is a much much bigger mistake than taking time and *maybe* missing out on a couple of signings.

My feeling is Boro...providing they keep Southgate.

I think Newcastle may make the play-offs and I would be more than happy if we got to that stage next year with all the turmoil that is going on at the club right now, I think its gonna take a new manager a while to rebuild and remould our squad, it took Coppell a couple of years before he got it right, why should we expect any more of the new guy?

S Hunt out = Reading win Championship - S Hunt in = mediocre mid table

We can't make an estimated guess at this point, the transfer window hasn't even opened and a few of the clubs don't even have a manager yet!

But the probability of them winning is pretty much 0, so they're still vastly overpriced.

The odds of them getting relegated should be extremely short.

I thnk all 3 relegated sides should be strong, WBA have a very decent CCC squad and record. They shouldn't lose many players and will definitely add 1 or 2 expensive signings as they've always done.

Boro will lose Downing but the remainder of their squad i see mainly staying, maybe Tuncay might go and possibly Wheater, but still got a lot of decent young players, again they should be there or thereabouts.

Newcastle are the unknown quantity of the 3. There is going to be massive changes at Newcastle. I tell you it's some achievement to get a club of that size with the quality in their squad relegated, but the idiots up there managed it. Wouldn't be surprised to see 3/4 of that side leave, few of the young lads in, but like West Ham a few years ago they will have some finance and have the name to attract good players for this level tothe club still. It's how they handle playing for NEwcastle and their ridiculously demanding supporters. West Ham and Leeds didn't go straight back up and Newcastle will be demanding it.

Of the teams going up Leicester with MAndaric will have money to spend, they'll add a forward and a permanent goalkeeper, they might well do alright and challenge the top 6. Scunny will be around the bottom I'd have thought and Peterborough I reckon might getinto mid table.

Reading is now depending on who gets the job and how much they have to spend. The squad's weaknesses were highlighted towards the end of the season, Reading were in relegation form from January and it needs a shake up. I think a play off place would be the best they could hope for, i think they will finish outside, around 10th or 11th possibly.

I disagree with those above about Swansea, they need another centre forward and they should get Bodde back, but I think they'll do quite well again,as should Cardiff in their new stadium. QPR god knows what we'll get from those jokers, Ipswich should do better. The other usual suspects Sheff Utd, PNE, Bristol City will probably e there or thereabouts.

Such a hard league to predict, a bad start and could be struggling all season, and there is always a shock name around the top of the league.

Give some shoddy predictions

1. WBA
2. MBoro
3. Ipswich
4. Sheff Utd
5. Newcastle
6. Leicester

Down
22. Barnsley
23. Scunthorpe
24. Plymouth

I thought Tuncay was retiring, but that might have been Tugay.
