He was been a top performer in the prem for years and been linked to barcelona, man utd and real madrid all in that time and remained loyal to newcastle. Now he is likely to end up at man city, who lets face it, won't come close to winning something any time soon. What a shocker of an ending.

Yep, he's remained loyal to Newcastle and that's whay I'm struggling to see your problem here - if anything it's more an indictment of the mess that is Newcastle United. It's been bad there before but the current situation has clearly worn him down so much that he feels it's time for a move - I'm sure if a bigger club then Man City came in he'd consider them - they aren't so he's off there.
His move would be a sad day for Newcastle not for football.
