T.R.O.L.I. ^ Are you sure it's a cumulative prize fund in the FA Cup? Don't think it was confirmed either way on the Team board when people were discussing how much money RFC have made from the cup run.

I thought I had definitively cleared it up on that thread -it's cumulative.

Dirk Gently Sunderland about to announce losses of £26M for the year. That's not to compete in the PL, of course, that's to just about survive there.

yet on the team board others are talking abou the extra money we would make from SKY which would allow us to make the investment needed to survive in the Premiership

Not as much about how much you spend, as it is about how well you spend.

We spent our ~£10m badly (Fae, Halford, Cisse, Matejovsky, Kebe, Rosenior, Duberry, Bennett, Sodje, Halls etc), so we got relegated.

We ran a tight ship, but didn't go down becasue of it.

There was more money avaliable. If we went up we would spend similar amounts again, but as IR said, need to do it a bit better.

Coppell achieved so many things here, but even his biggest fans have to admit, that post promotion, he's transfer record was terrible, not to mention bizarre.

He was never really one for buying players to come straight into the line up though was he?

Ivar, Lita, Little, maybe.

Kitson, Convey, Doyle, Sonko, Bikey, SHunt all bought to be developed and eased into the team.
