Rooney went like 3 years without scoring a goal for England not so long ago, and when was the last time he really made an impact at a tournament? Euro 2004? Overrated club footballer, you need someone who turns out for your country, Peter Crouch.

M-U-R-T-Y Yarmolenko just completely murked Parker

Thought Parker did well to make it difficult for him once he went down... trying to make a headed tackle!

Apart from self distruct moments I think this is the worst England have played so far in the tournament. Much less incisive passing. More errors. Ukraine have looked tidy and in control in midfield, but haven't really threatened Hart a great deal. Although I get the feeling our defence will part like the red sea at some point during the match.

1-1 I reckon.

Actually, I'm going to switch to RTE2 HD as the commentary will hopefully not make me want to throw up.

AbovetheI England are so unbelievably dull tonight. Are they holding out fore the bore draw to guarantee a QF place or are they genuinely lacking any skill?

No, and no.

Ffs.

:?:

Then why is there no spark?

Ffs.
Because Ukraine are at home the crowd are loud and it's fecking humid

Richard Jolly ‏@RichJolly
Half-time stats: Welbeck has completed five passes, Milner seven, Young nine, Johnson ten. Xavi-esque.

There's some, but we've reverted to the pace we played against France, rather than against Sweden. Young looks lively, Gerrard is actually getting around the pitch and making possession count, Rooney's movement is good.

Welbeck is off the boil, Milner is invisible in attack.

I don't get why people watch England expecting something spectacularly good.

As you know I don't. Honest appraisal is all I give. (As evidenced by my acknowledgement of my regular target of frustration and ire, Mr Gerrard.)

Carroll would have buried that Rooney chance.

Really?

As soon as we beat Sweeden the hype started again.

"Spain aren't all that, we can beat them" etc etc etc

It's just a big media inspired shitstorm that I try to aviod at every opportunity.

Carroll would have broken the net from that range. Read that his header against Sweden went at 64 mph, and he met the ball 8ft 3ins in the air.
